It’s an interesting proposition, Ms Spicer. There’s just one problem.

Oh. Have I missed something? questioned the presenter.

Missed; no. But our budget to break into this market is lower than you seem to be expecting. Quite simply, we can’t afford what you’re suggesting.

Stephanie Spicer, creative director at Conway Creative, was used to challenges during the pitches she gave, but the one at Trans-Ex that afternoon was proving to be a real uphill struggle. She and her project manager, Adam Lancaster, had met the decision makers at the high-end electronics company weeks before for introductory discussions. Now she and her branding creative, Jess Doyle, were finding out just how difficult this potential client could be. Stephanie shook back her mane of golden yellow hair and pouted her sweet, rosebud mouth before she continued.

Jess was tall, black, and as seductive as any woman Stephanie had ever seen. At nearly six feet tall, with light ebony skin, long dark hair, and a lipstick red mouth and brilliant white smile, she simply oozed sex appeal. Jess had small breasts, but she pushed them forward in her low-cut blouse, as if to emphasise her point. Stephanie watched with a smile as Glenn and his co-partner Francis Belton, began to unashamedly stare at her chest and warm to her undoubted womanly charm.

Shame for you, she’s a lesbian, thought Stephanie to herself. But at least I’m going to be enjoying Jess’s company later tonight.

A further hour went by as Jess and Stephanie answered questions about their pitch, and the practicalities of a Scottish company working with a London-based creative agency. Finally, when the discussions concluded and things drew to a close, the two women rose to leave the boardroom.

Well, thank you for your time today, said Francis, shaking their hands.

Yes, thank you for making the long trip north. It has been a most revealing pitch, added Glenn. As he shook Jess’s hand, he seemed unwilling to let go.

If there is anything else you want, just let me know, breathed Stephanie, seductively. Her eyes shone like sunlit sapphires as she turned to leave the room. We’ll look forward to hearing from you.

As the pair walked back towards the company’s reception area, Stephanie whispered in Jess’s ear.

Well done. You’re learning fast. However much a man thinks he’s making a rational business decision with a woman, it’s always their dicks that make the final call.

I’m learning from the master, laughed Jess. Or should I say mistress?

Hope so, cooed Jess.

Well, I did promise, giggled Stephanie as they swung open the door and stepped out into the cold, fresh air. Dark clouds were gathering and promised rain. Let’s get a taxi back to the hotel. I hope tomorrow in Liverpool won’t be as tricky. My boss, Katrina, is expecting a couple more new business wins this month, so we need to deliver. It’s another interesting potential client, and I know we’ll need to go in well prepared.

We can always brush up on things tonight, suggested Jess with a twinkle in her eyes and a ripple of delicious musical laughter. At least we get to stay up here overnight when we do back-to-back meetings like this.

Then let’s head for the hotel and start our homework

As the taxi swept Stephanie and Jess back to their city center hotel, Stephanie reflected on the whirlwind events in her life of the last few weeks. She’d just returned from an international branding symposium in Barcelona. It had been a great event, but nowhere near as interesting as the meeting she’d had with business brothers, Christophe and Sebastián Enneritz, who owned the hotel she’d stayed in.
