- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I am a person who grew up with childhood emotional neglect and sexual abuse. In reading the opening chapter about CEN in relationships, I did not find myself (or my partner) in those descriptions. I've been through 10 years of therapy and have a diagnosis of Complex PTSD. Even at the very beginning of my therapy, I was nothing like the people described in these pages. It feels like the author is using a very narrow "type" and trying to apply it broadly to all people who've experienced developmental trauma. There are way (WAY) better books out there. Don't waste your time with this one.
