About this ebook

This is a BWWM Romance
Tanis Burton hates dating with a passion. She has too many things to contend with without the added pressure of dealing with men who only want one thing, a place to lay their head, and it’s not necessarily in a bed.
Tanis is worried about paying rent and keeping her apartment, and keeping her job, but all that becomes less of a worry when she loses both. She will be homeless soon if she doesn’t find a position that pays well.
Janson Bain is a bachelor father and self-employed. He’s looking for a companion as well as an Au Pair for his young son. Someone that is willing to live in and give up their free time to be a nanny to his child. And someone to fill his empty heart and empty hours of the day.
Will desperation bring these two together? Or are they just two different to find common ground?

    Bachelor Father - Erica Storm

    Chapter One: Tanis

I have no idea what you’re talking about, I said.

Do you remember when you went with me to that pop concert and my fiancée was eyeing you the whole time? I drew a hard breath and rolled my eyes. I wanted to curse her for putting me in that position. Yet I stood there and waited for her to stop this insane talk this early in the morning. And then she said it.

He was admiring your tits and ass?

No, and I didn’t need to hear that. I remember this one made my skin crawl the way he looked at me. And where do you find those perverts anyway? I said placing my arms through my blouse as I got ready for work.

What brought that on, I asked, and who can remember your boyfriends anyway. They seem to change as often as you change your underwear. And I don’t think six a.m. is a good time to remind me of what a fucked up time I had with you. Between you watching him and him gaping at me, I felt totally uncomfortable. I couldn’t concentrate on the concert if you could call it that.

Haley started this conversation and now she’s pissed at me because she has this lecherous boyfriend who wants to fuck anyone who looks sideways at him.

It doesn’t matter if women are looking at him trying to find out if something is wrong with him, he still thinks that a woman who crosses eyes with him wants to fuck him. I’d say he’s a walking pervert and should be castrated. Not in the physical sense, but someone never told him no in his life.

    Haley interrupts my thoughts.

And what about you? I remember you had a date every day of the week with a different guy, Haley said to me. I stopped dressing and walked up to her and faced her.

Do you remember that we didn’t have any money left over for groceries? I had to bring you along so they could pay for your meals too. I would have a regular boyfriend but they couldn’t afford to feed the both of us.

Haley turned away and continued dressing. She knew what I said had been the truth. And she had this expensive apartment in the middle of Manhattan which cost us an arm and a leg and we would have to probably give it up.

If we wanted to stay another month in here, we would have to pay the rent, and soon.

Looking around it wasn’t that great an apartment for the two thousand we had to spend on a walk up over a grocery store that had heat in the winter sometimes. I’m just happy it’s not winter. Summer has its perks but very few, and sleeping out on the fire escape wasn’t one of them, not with all the noise from traffic and since they chose to build new high-rises for the wealthy, now we can’t see the sun which can be a good thing.

I decided to put my foot down and bring Haley back to reality.

Either we have to get better jobs, a smaller apartment somewhere in Brooklyn, or we get a part time job. Which will it be and as far as your fiancé what’s his name, Trey, I said before she corrected me.

Troy. Her voice was soft and noncombatant, her eyes fell to the floor because she knew where I was going with this conversation she chose to start at this time of the morning.

Whatever, he’s looking to make it a threesome and like I told you before, I don’t swing, and he can’t live here with us. Or whatever you call it, hooking up, or that swing shit you do with your other girlfriends. And he’s creepy looking, I said.

I walked to the small kitchen, and looked out a small window at the apartment across from ours, and sat at the table that held two people. There wasn’t
