Doctor Sebastian Croft is hot, sexy and a total man-whore. At least that is what everyone who works with him think. Doctor Sebastian Croft is used to playing by the rules. His rules. So what does he do when his rules says to leave the hot new doctor alone? He breaks them! After all they don't call him Doctor McHottie for no reason.

Doctor Alyvia Winter is cool under fire and a great asset to have in an emergency and she is not buying the sh*t that Sebastian Croft is shoveling. Doctor Olivia Winter always play by the rules. Their rules. So what does she do when all the rules point to Sebastian being a thief and a drug lord? She breaks them! After all they don't call her Doctor Ice for no reason.

When you look up the word douchebag in the dictionary and see his picture it doesn’t convince her that he has stopped his man-whore ways, but this doesn’t stop her body from igniting on fire every time they are together.

Sebastian gets frostbite every time he is in her presence, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting to spread her out on the closest surface and screw her until her eyes roll back into her head.

When Doctor McHottie and Doctor Ice come together will the steam fog up every window of the Colorado Springs Trauma Center or will it burn them both intensely?

Hi Everyone and thank you for stopping by my page. A little bit about myself. I have been married for over 20 years which is totally amazing to members of my family who had a bet on my wedding day that it would not last beyond two years. Suckers!! I have two kids that have made it to the age of 18. Yeah me!! I have been writing all of my life, but have never shared any of my writing with anyone beyond my family. I wrote my first romance novel when I was in junior high school and gave it to my English teacher to read. She told me to stick with something I know. Ever since then I have kept my writing to myself. What changed? When my oldest was going to graduate from high school one of the things I did was to write a letter to her future self. I just wrote what I felt, but it was so liked by her teacher that she stated that I should become a writer. I decided to stop hiding my desire to write and to just go for it. So congrats on joining this adventure with me I am glad you are along for the ride.

    Chapter One

Doctor Sebastian Croft hurried down the crowded hallway towards the trauma center impatiently pushing his blonde hair out of his eyes, making a mental note to see his stylist to get it cut on his next day off. A few minutes had elapsed since the app on his cell phone dinged, alerting him to the ambulances that were on their way with several overdose victims. Unfortunately, a new drug had been popping up on the club scene. He had seen several other cases in the trauma center in the past few weeks as it moved from the clubs in Denver to the ones in Colorado Springs. It was becoming something of an epidemic. This time there were several cases on the way. It was an all hands-on deck situation. The trauma center was attached to one of the major hospitals in Colorado Springs. It was the only Level I trauma center in Colorado Springs ensuring that they see a lot of traffic. The increase in drug overdose patient has kept the staff hopping and the adjourning hospital full.

It was just his luck that the moment he got to work all hell breaks loose. Now, he had to rush in to oversee the residents and interns that were on shift tonight. He would have to catch up with Doctor Rosmund to get a report from him about the day shift later on.

He skidded around the corner, almost running over Danny Masters, the night shift pharmacy tech, in his mad dash to get to the trauma center. Danny was almost the same height as Sebastian, but Sebastian had at least thirty pounds of muscle on him. So, plowing into the tall, lanky pharmacy tech would have been the equivalent of a linebacker hitting the quarterback.

Sorry! he called out to Danny as he continued on his way to the ambulance bay.

No problem, Doctor Croft. Danny called out to him as he pushed his cart. He continued on his rounds to pick up the unused medications from the day, his customary one earbud in as he listened to his Dubtronica on his iPhone. Sebastian could only shake his head at the purple and pink Mohawk pharmacy tech. Even though they were a few years apart in age they were decades apart in mentality.

Sebastian arrived at the bay just as the ambulances were backing in, he saw the night nurse supervisor, Linda Watson, directing the other staff towards the ambulances ensuring that the staff was distributed as needed. He headed in her direction.

The Trauma Center apps for the staff had already provided real-time updates from the paramedics prior to the ambulance arriving. He was ready to go as the first of the patients were unloaded.

    Controlled chaos reigned.

After assessing the first patient, he sent him off to the trauma center treatment room under the supervision of a group of Fellows. Trotting over to the next patient he almost plowed into a nurse. She didn’t even spare him a glance as she continued working on the patient, but he received a shock as her body connected to his. Such a simple accidental touch set his body on fire.

He paused for a moment, caught off guard, he observed her closely. An air of authority surrounded her. Her bronze skin glowed in the bright lights of the ambulance bay. He noticed the thick curly hair, pulled back into a ponytail, and her cool efficient tone as she issued orders to the other staff members. Orders they jumped to do without questioning her. A moment in and he could see her attitude was cool as ice. Efficient and competent, something that attracted Sebastian’s attention at the most inappropriate time. He wished she would turn around so he could get a better look at her, but that was not happening. She was bending over the patient on the gurney, engrossed in her work.

Isn’t it just my luck that a hot new nurse starts working the week I am out at a medical conference. He thought as he bypassed that patient to move onto the next one.

It didn’t stop him from making a note of how well the trauma center’s scrubs hugged her generous curves. Hospital scrubs had never made an ass look so good.

    Trust Sebastian, he knew.

Just because he didn’t date the female staff didn’t mean he hadn’t checked them out. After all, he was a man and there were some beautiful women in Colorado Springs. He would have noticed before if someone looking that good in scrubs had crossed his path. The words to a Nine Inch Nails song started floating through his head. Yes, I could fuck her like an animal, he thought and enjoy every fucking minute of it.

He started assessing his next patient making a mental note to look in on the new nurse. He was not about to break his no dating the staff rule, but there was no reason he couldn’t enjoy the scenery when he was at work.

    ***

You know Doctor McHottie is on shift tonight. Sebastian over heard the nurses talking as he approached the nurses station.

Wow. A whole shift spent staring at that gorgeous thing. It should be illegal for a man to look that good. The other nurse sighed.

He recognized the first voice as Linda Watson, the night shift charge nurse. He’d worked plenty of shifts with her before and knew that she was a dedicated nurse. He just didn’t know how to react to the kind motherly woman referring to him as Doctor McHottie.

She reminded him of one of his childhood friend’s grandmother with her penchant for baking chocolate chip cookies. A familiar face around here, she had been working at the trauma center for years and he knew that she had raised several foster children. But he never knew that among all the nurses, the woman he hugged every time she bought him home-made cookies called him Doctor McHottie. He didn’t know if he should feel flattered or creeped out? For now, he was going to be a man and act like he hadn’t heard anything.

He gave a silent groan as he recognized the second voice. Theresa Nelson, she was training with Linda to learn the charge nurse duties. He had heard whispered complaints from the other nurses that she had a tendency of flirting with the male nurses and treat the female nurses as if they were beneath her. He knew that student nurses avoided her like the plague and begged their instructors not to be assigned to her. Despite some unfortunate personality traits, she was an excellent nurse when she wasn’t busy flirting. He didn’t know why, but recently she had set her sights on him. He had heard, around the trauma center, that she was on a mission to become a MRS. Doctor and Sebastian was her target of choice.

Before that, he never had the unfortunate experience of being the target of her flirtation. Now, Sebastian made sure that he was never alone with her.

I know. I made sure to wear my tightest scrub pants. The ones that highlight my ass. Theresa said to Linda. There was no denying that Theresa could easily have been a model instead of a nurse. Her diamond shaped faced emphasized her sharp cheek bones. Her makeup was flawless. She had used some secret known only to women to exaggerate the cat-tilt of her green eyes. She carefully covered her thin lips in a dark red that only enhanced the beauty and paleness of her skin. She ensured that all the beauty of her face was on display for the world to see, by pulling back her black hair in a ponytail, per trauma center regulation. Her tall, slender body was show-cased by the green scrubs that she wore to enhance her eye color. Unfortunately, her efforts were for nothing, Sebastian felt absolutely no stirring of attraction when he looked at her, not like what he felt for that little nurse he had encountered in the ambulance bay.

He couldn’t deny it. Sebastian enjoyed his lifestyle, while not opposed to the idea of marriage, she was not the type of woman he saw himself settling down with. He enjoyed the casual flings, none had resulted in a more serious relationship, not that he would mind if it did. Perhaps one day he would meet the woman who not only stirred his loins, but stirred other passions, Theresa however, was not this woman. Not that he was in any rush.

Ladies. Sebastian greeted them as he stepped around the corner to the nurses’ station.

Doctor Croft. they both sighed at him, taking in his broad shoulders and chest. The cerulean blue Johan original tailored shirt and stone colored tie under his lab coat drew attention to the green of his eyes.

He flashed his crooked smile at them. If you combined his smile with his thick wavy blonde hair, you couldn’t deny that he projected the image of a playboy about to hit the slopes rather than the highly educated doctor that he was. They sighed softly yet again, succumbing to the boyish charm of his smile.

What are we in for on the rest of this shift? he spoke to Linda giving no indication that he had overheard their conversation.

As part of her training, Theresa is going to be giving you report and running the shift. Linda gestured towards the nurse. Sebastian steeled himself for Theresa’s flirting.

There was no doubt, Sebastian loved working in the Trauma Center. He received the same adrenaline rush other people got from high risk sports without risking life or limb. As an added bonus, he operated in Colorado Springs, the Mecca for adrenaline junkies. The mountains called to them in the winter time. Slopes and snow, brought snowboarders and skiers by the throngs. They came looking to pit their bodies against the mountains.

In the summer time, it was the rock-climbers, hikers, and cyclists that came to take up the challenge.

They came to battle the peaks. Especially Pikes Peak. Sometimes there were winners, but often time their daring landed them in the trauma center where Sebastian and his staff raced to safe the challengers’ life or limbs. Their adrenaline-fueled adventure fed Sebastian’s need to pit himself against nature.

Human. Nature. As head physician of the trauma center Sebastian got all the adrenaline he needed. Though lately he had fewer adrenaline junkies, and more regular junkies.

Sebastian expected to see more overdose victims as the night went on. Friday night partiers were not known for their good sense after a night of drinking. As the bars started closing those who had the good sense to grab an Uber or call a taxi made it home safely. Those who didn’t hit the roads and ended their nights here at his trauma center.

We had several new interns and nurses start while you were away on vacation. Theresa, answered as she rounded the nurses’ desk and invaded his personal space.

Sebastian took a step away from her, hoping she would get the message. He was only interested in getting the report for the rest of his shift. As the person in charge of the trauma center for the next twelve hours he didn’t have time to flirt with her. It would be beneficial to both of their careers to keep things professional between them. We also have the new director of the trauma center here tonight. Theresa batted her eyelashes, clearly not understanding his signal.

Theresa, is there something in your eye? he asked at her rapid blinking ignoring the snicker he heard from Linda. A blind man could see she was flirting with him. He hoped that playing ignorant to her antics would give her the hint that he was not interested.

A disappointed moue crossed her lips at his total disregard of her wiles. He ignored that as well. There is a patient in trauma one with a head laceration. She continued on as the professional that he knew she could be. They made it through the rest of the report without any further flirtation.

Where is Doctor Rosmund? Sebastian was surprised he hadn’t shown up during the arrival of the ambulances or to give him a report.

He is up in Labor and Delivery, Theresa answered him as the other nurses for the shift started to gather around them to get their shift assignments.

That caught him off guard, Was there an emergency up there? Sometimes they received trauma patients that were pregnant. It reminded him of the time when his friends Jericho and Kellista Ryder came through after Kellista had been mugged. It was a shock to see such a strong woman so vulnerable, but the bigger shock came from having to tell his best friend that has fiancé was pregnant and he needed to make a choice between her life and those of his unborn children. That had been Sebastian’s worst day as a doctor.

No, his wife went into early labor.

Who is the covering physician? Sebastian noted that there were several fellows presently receiving reports, but he didn’t see any attending physician.

Doctor Winter, the new trauma center director, is covering for him.

    Where is Doctor Winter?

    "I don’t know.
