Combining autobiography, statisti, case histories, advertising and reportage, Woodrow Phoenix draws a compelling picture of the warped psychology behind our need for speed.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not actually a novel, but definitely graphic; this is a striking but measured rant about car-use, from someone who is a car-owner himself. I don't entirely know how much it would convince an SUV driver, or someone who doesn't already have a guilty conscience about driving, mind you.
