This was a great book! The author jumped right into the story, then fed the reader bits of the background as necessary. As a reader, I appreciated not remembering something from the beginning until it became relevant. As an editor, I appreciated not having to take notes for continuity—all in all, a romantic, sexy, fun read.

I have always wanted to write a werewolf story; however, I never knew where to start. I had a basic outline ready, but it has taken me years to breathe life into this special project. But that reasoning began to waiver when subtle hints that she was more began. Glenn had many gifts; he was a shifter who possessed the ability to see a person’s aura. When a person could conjure up magic, their aura was strong and manifested itself as a dark green haze. He sometimes saw a tinge of green around her, but the aura only lasted a few seconds. However, as they became closer and love blossomed, her aura became more evident.

Glenn knew that witches, shifters, vampires, demons, and the like, gave off certain auras. At first, he was confused. Was she holding back? Was she deceiving him on purpose? As time passed, he realized she was unaware of her hidden gift.

His inner self gave him access to another world. Was she part of that world, or was she genuinely ignorant of who she was? There were too many indications that Cassie was a product of magic. Whether she liked it or not, magic was her destiny.

Cassie was also human. All witches were. If her powers remained untapped and never released, she’d lose them in time, and the force around her would disappear. Her human side would dominate, and her ability to tap the powers of magic would be lost forever.

Then the unexpected happened, and Glenn fell in love with her. Love was an emotion he’d never planned on, at least not with a human or an almost human.

He’d only known her for a few months when he realized he loved her and was nearly knocked off his feet. He’d been waiting a lifetime for her, and that she returned his feelings gave him hope that he would eventually share his secret with her. More importantly, he’d help her discover she was part of his world.

Her aura was stronger each day, and the promise of the strength of her powers was more than encouraging. Glenn was hopeful that their love and their future would fall into place. However, he never counted on Glenda Carson, her aunt. The woman oozed uncertainty and emanated an aura indicating she was a witch. Once he’d met Glenda, he knew what he’d sensed about Cassie was true. Life and loving Cassie had suddenly become complicated. The vibes he felt when he was around Glenda were dark and ominous. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Cassie was in grave danger.
