About this ebook
Vanity Bishop is from an ancient clan of vampires where the females are the superior warrior. When the mating ritual ended, the males were led out into the sun to their death.
It's the twenty-first century, and the old vampire clans are warned that they must cease their ancient rituals. In a show of faith, an ancient sect of vampires chooses Vanity to induct into their elite sect of vampires. These creatures fight evil and are superior and deadly warriors. When training begins, she meets a human warrior, an ex-navy seal who was seriously wounded protecting her world and his. Her attraction to the fallen warrior is dangerous, and Vanity learns he's more than he appears to be.
Will age-old customs come back to destroy her future?
Can both creatures withstand the one power, stronger than anything they've ever experienced, a power called love? Or will they fall prey to the faults and indecisions accompanying the power of love? Only time will tell.

About the Author:
Vanity Bishop
Chapter One
Bats with solid fillShe wiped the blood from her face and snapped her fangs back into place. Mm, fresh blood, with a hint of opium, just how she liked her morning meal. She’d left the young bartender down an alley sleeping off his high. After her bite, he’d be looking for a rehab center, and surprisingly he’d be on his way to recovery. It’s what she did best, saving humans. Actually, she saved all creatures from evil, and drug addiction was evil at its finest.
Darmarge Entrée, a vast underground French order, was one of the highest vampire contingencies and accepted very few new enrollees. Casus, her only male vampire friend, had persevered and won over the ruling clan. Vanity was thrilled; she’d been accepted into one of the deadliest clans known to her kind. Casus had called her and asked her to meet him in Brooklyn. They were walking the streets, and Vanity was confused until they turned a corner.
Casus, where are you taking me?
she asked as they walked down a dark, deserted alleyway in Brooklyn.
To your meeting, Vanity. They’re being cautious. It’s not every day they let someone into their tight little group, let alone a mere vampire like you.
I should be jumping up and down because these snobs are gracing me with their presence.
They never do anything without a motive. It was easier than I thought to persuade them to allow you membership. If that’s what you want to call it.
I have nothing special to add to their little clan. I’m rich, but what vampire nowadays isn’t.
Me, for one,
Casus said, smiling.
If you didn’t squander every penny you made on booze, gambling, and women, you would have more money than all of us.
The male vampire with Vanity was model perfect in looks. He was your tall, dark, handsome, and then some, with a heart as black as coal. She’d fucked him more than once and could attest he was better than most, but he lacked a critical characteristic for Vanity. He wasn’t human. Vanity had a real weakness for mortal men.
Ah, but my dear, those are my vices, and they are the spice of life or, rather, the afterlife. I’m a vampire, and vices come naturally to me.
They reached the end of the alleyway. So, what next, genius,
Vanity said, tapping her black leather booted foot on the damp, dank concrete floor. There’s a dead end here, or can you move walls too.
Always the smart ass,
he said, smirking. No, I can’t move walls, but their directions were specific.
"Okay,
