    SPIDER

I saw a little spider run across the floor,

He crawled by mommy’s slippered feet and underneath the door,

He slowly climbed up all the stairs - I thought it quite a laugh,

When I went to wash my hands and face and saw him in the bath,

He looked quite silly standing there, it really was a joke,

For he kept on trying to climb back out and slipping on the soap,

So I picked him up, lifted him out, his eight legs were quite soft,

And helped him make a nice big web up in our large, dark loft,

He was quite friendly most the time yet sometimes he was mean,

He dangled in front of mommy’s face to make her run and scream,

But still he was quite useful and although only small in size,

He made sure in the summer that the house was clear of flies.

    KELLYS KITTEN

Kelly had a kitten, the kitten’s name was Kate,

And every time she had a meal Kelly’s kitten licked her plate,

She loved milk and fish and kitty kat and tasty little treats,

And in the night she’d hunt for mice out in the darkened streets.

The kitten loved to chase the birds out by the garden gate,

What a naughty, naughty kitten was that little fur ball, Kate,

One day she saw a big bird, a bird all black and white,

And decided that she’d creep right up to give the bird a fright,

But as she moved in closer, what happened do you suppose?

The bird turned round and pecked
