This book is a "Must Have" in every parents library. It is easy to read -children will find the illustrations cute- and explain to any toddler who is beginning to ask: "Where did I come from?" kinds of questions. I had it long before we had our child. I knew I would need backup information and data.Ok, ok, it is far cry from the Kinsey Report but that is not the book's intention. That kind of information you are able to find somewhere else. There is a sequel to this book dealing about puberty just as nice.

My introduction to sex education came from the pages of Where Did I Come From and in retrospect I couldn't think of a better beginners' guide to sex and reproduction. In retrospect it was a daring production; drawings of naked couples getting it on (and the couple is carrying a few more kilos than you would expect in a publication) in a book designed for pre-teens. I've seen books (usually in a class setting) designed for teenagers that deal with sex and pregnancy in less frank ways than Where Did I Come From. And thank Christ my parents gave me this book to read; otherwise I would have gone into high school with absolutely no idea about the birds and the bees.
