Mr. Tumble shook his head from atop the small puffy cloud he was floating on. A ghost distress signal was coming from the abandoned warehouse below him. Whoever the ghost was, they were lucky to have a distress signal to use. His daughter, Anna, had been caught by a shade long before any of their family had gotten distress signals.
He received word about an hour ago that she was safe at last. Relieved as he was to know that Anna was no longer a prisoner, he also felt a profound sense of pride from knowing what Ariel had to go through to help free her sister. He was so fortunate to have such an amazing wife and daughters. As much as he wanted to reunite with his family, he couldn’t ignore a distress call, or there would be some other family broken apart that he could have helped.
Distress signals were not a sure fire method of attracting help. Sometimes it backfired by attracting a shade, and still other times the signal failed completely. Shades had begun to figure out ways to block distress signals, a terrible thought that had the E.G.A.DS. ghost tech department scrambling to find more reliable methods to boost the signals through a shade’s spell. Not only had shades started to find ways to block distress signals, but they were starting to work together again. This spelled trouble for all respectable ghosts.
