Introduction
I don't want to mince words here, so I'm just going to lay it straight out: low self-confidence is a cancer. Just as cancer starts with one organ and often spreads to other organs of the body, your low self-confidence can eat into all areas of your life. You might think that you have vulnerabilities and shortcomings in only one area of your life, but try as you'd like, your low self-confidence there can reduce your effectiveness in many other areas of your life. Worst of all, it robs you of the best life you're capable of, and if left unattended, it will continue to grow. You might think that you're surviving and making it day to day but that's hardly living life to the fullest. Far from it.
Unfortunately, most people would rather settle for this type of life instead of confronting their low self-confidence. In their minds, it just takes too much work, too many resources, and ultimately it’s not worth the bother. They automatically think that settling for crumbs is the answer. This is too bad because everybody is capable of living a full and meaningful life.
It is just unfortunate that most people choose to settle. They deny their low self-confidence, they excuse it, justify it, and they hedge around it. Whatever compensatory behavior they engage in, the end result is the same: they rob themselves of the best life they deserve. Let's get something clear here. No amount of explanation, justification or blaming will make your low self-confidence's negative effects go away. Stop treating the symptoms and start working on curing the disease.
