Fading Façade
You say my smile is a pretty smile, but it’s just a part of a façade,
I’m hardened on the inside.
A façade that’s been built, slowly brick by brick,
For each time I got let down.
I created this guard, this wall around my heart,
So it could no longer be broken in pieces.
Where does that leave you, my friend, I don’t know it depends,
What do you want? What are your intentions?
If you’re running game, please run away,
I must warn you the next player will surely pay.
If you’re real, let’s talk; let me pick your brain,
It just might be time to try love again.
But I must let you know, before you start at Hello,
That this journey for you won’t be easy.
Though at times I’m complicated, emotions often dissipated,
Believe when I tell you I’m worthy.
Woman of strength am I, don’t let me walk by,
Or you could be missing your prize.
Submissive by design, supportive and divine,
And there’s knowledge behind these brown eyes.
Chip away at this façade, this guard around my heart,
It’s not hard all you gotta do is be real.
As we talk more and more, I know this for sure,
You’ll come to see I’m
