Just between us two, I never intended to be an author

Oh, and before I go on, the reason I’m putting pen to paper

Is just so after you read this your mind will never again conjure thoughts of never

Cause you can do whatever you put your mind to, things that can last forever

This is a poem that could have sounded really sweet if it were written at a later time

And I could have done that, wait until I actually ‘made it’ as an author, big-time

But this word cannot wait, because you need it now; and it’s really not at all about me

Though I’ll use ‘me’ to make a point, a point that I am hoping you will see

Not just to see what I see that I never
