About this ebook
This is Episode 3 of Sculpting David, part of The David Saga Series. In this episode a new character's voice is introduced and this character is arguably the most important one other than David. Why? Read to know who is here to tell his/her perspective... This episode concludes Part 1 of the David Saga!
DISCLAIMER FROM THE AUTHOR: Episode 1 ends in a cliffhanger. This will be explained further in Episode 3. Now, although I prefer you do read all 3 of the Episodes in order, it is ok to go from Episode 1 to 3 then come back to 2. In fact, I decided to offer a split version of the book precisely for that reason. So that some of the readers can get a different experience from the book and get a new perspective on the book and characters. You can also read Episode 2 first, then jump into 1 and 3 :)
David is successful, spontaneous, and downright attractive. He somehow manages good grades and a social life aided. To those that see him, he is flawless but everyone has their faults. Sculpting David - Chadi Nassar
Chapter 1
The year I heard so much about David
My relationship with David started on the first day of his Freshman year at university. I noticed him. He noticed me. For a year, we only noticed each other.
I dreamt of him being by my side and thought he was the sexiest guy I’d ever seen. He wasn’t from around here and I found him very intriguing. He carried himself in a way that was so different from everyone else I had ever known. He was just different, and I found that completely attractive.
David was a guy I noticed, yet I never thought he noticed me back. He always hung out with this one girl, from class to lunch to class again, to labs to exit to wherever they went. Everyone thought they were together. I thought they were an item. They weren’t.
In any case, this was my last year in my program at this chapter of our university, and I was going to transfer into another part after next summer. Why would I bother going into anything with someone when I wasn’t going to be there for long anyway? I dismissed the glances and looks we gave each other, and went on with my life.
I heard he’s been asking around about me. David was researching me and trying to find out who I was. My friends would come up to me and tell me that the cute foreign kid that walked into class in his designer pajama pants was asking about me! I mean, who would buy designer pajama pants? And why would they wear them to school?!
He lived in the dorms. The buildings were a few minutes away from our faculty. Was he really too lazy to get up 15 minutes before class and put on proper pants? I found that odd for someone to do. I did enjoy oddities though. But I mean seriously? Designer pajama pants and a guy wearing them? He must be gay. Why would I even give him the time of day. I dismissed his dress code and the looks he gave me, and just went about my life.
This guy was everywhere I went. He was in all the clubs and all the proper restaurants. He hung out with everyone. I mean EVERYONE. I had never seen or known of anyone that would keep such a full social calendar. At times it seemed he was in three places at once! I swear I heard a few people say the next day that he was at their party, and there were three different parties!
He was spotted chugging beer at one, doing tequila shots at another, and dancing the salsa at the third. Could it be possible that this cute foreign guy called David had clones? He confused me and I was very intrigued. I liked being confused. But I was also very wary of people who confused me. I dismissed the confusion and the looks he gave me, and I just went on with my life.
There were rumors circulating that he went to a private school. He was now known as the cute foreign kid that went to some fancy prep/private school in some other country. Maybe he wasn’t foreign after all. He already spoke at least two languages and it was rumored he could understand more than his fair share.
Who is he? A son of some ambassador? CIA agent? Is he himself a spy? Rumors were everywhere and circulating. Rumors here and rumors there. He didn’t seem to notice, or maybe he didn’t care about the rumors. I always saw him smiling and laughing with many people.
He was friends with all the people I knew, and all the people I wouldn’t even bother with. He seemed at home with the jocks, discussing proper times on the track; with the airhead, pretty girls, making them giggle, and with the gay guys, arguing about where proper cashmere came from and how to distinguish the good stuff from the blends. I overheard all those discussions as I passed by various places, and would see him here and there. I even heard him discuss the beauty of the Kenyan sun with a group of African students here on exchange, or scholarship programs. I see that he is well educated in many matters. I dismissed his education and the looks he gave me, and I just went about my life.
Not only did this David guy go to many parties in a night, but he seemingly never missed a class and was on the honor roll after his first semester in our university. All the professors loved him and thought he was a good blend of brains, manners, and wit. They enjoyed him being in their classes, although some thought he might be a little smug at times. However, they all seemed to agree that he was a very smart young man with a bright future coming his way.
I would see him laughing
