Foreword
1.jpgMoisa’s grandfather’s French name is Moïse. As he loved so much the newborn baby girl, the parents decided to name her after his Spanish derivate name by putting an a at the end to call her Moisa.
Moisa left Haiti right after kindergarten classes and traveled with her mother Nicole to live in Miramar, Florida.
At that time, nobody could imagine that a so-shy kid would soon become a talented singer and a potential writer. This year, 2014, she is fourteen, and this is the second book that she published, and others are already on the way.
Moisa still goes back to Haiti on many occasions to hang out with family there. The coming year 2015, we wish that she could release at least a single vocal album. She starts with high school this summer.
Today Moisa writes for the young people of her generation and reports in a language that is theirs what she sees, what she hears, what she understands, and what it includes. Yet anyone can perceive that she has a cubit in advance in her thoughts and a surprising maturity in her way of expressing it.
This is what makes us believe that if she continues on this path, no one can predict what future awaits this young author.
Fresh, alive, and shimmering, the style that she uses may reveal one day a writer of a great variety, which the horizon will not leave collect the limit, unless the singer, who already accumulated a number of song lyrics of her own, takes the step over the writer.
So let’s follow with interest the course in the evolution of Moisa, whose near future will soon tell us who she really is and what summit this talented fourteen-year-old girl, native of Haiti, is intended to reach.
In the meantime, let’s wish her the greatest success for a brilliant future.
-Guy, Moisa’s Father
Acknowledgments
1.jpgThis book is dedicated to the Catholic Community of St. Bartholomew in Miramar, FL for the evident support they have shown toward me, especially Father Jean Jadotte and Nancy Samson. I feel necessary to include my new godson, cousin Noah Desruisseaux, and his mom and dad, Martine and Nerva.
I don’t want to put aside Mr. and Mrs. Emeran, who believe I am promised to a great future, the Lamontagne and Leo families, Aunt Darline Wroy, my cousin Ambassador Thony Rodrigue, my sister Myrlise and brother Frandy that I love very much.
My father is always talking about his native city of Ouanaminthe, where the sun rises in Haiti (to repeat his own words), and my mother doesn’t negotiate her Port-de-Paix, making me feel that I am a kid of those cities that I cherish warmly in my heart.
Let’s not forget all those who are buying my first book in bookstores, on the Internet, or directly from the family. Some of them send me kind words of encouragement.
God bless my whole family, all my friends that
helped me when I was in a slump, and
