About this ebook
Spirituality 138 is an extraordinary gathering of words written from the perspective of an unhindered mind. Subsequently a natural filtering of unnecessary analytical spiritual data is prevalent, manifesting clear concise perspectives regarding a wide range of spiritual/human issues.
Chapter 1 lays the foundation supporting this enlightening book with its explanation, definitions, and analogy pertaining to the all-encompassing spiritual framework; that which underpins all physical constructs. Building on this platform Jim Cartwright describes simply and intricately simultaneously, what the fundamental characteristics of the mind are, and how these characteristics become heavily influenced by an individual’s immediate family, community, and cultural environment. He shares with the reader valuable knowledge as to help identify, and then cease, the current negative symptoms associated with the systemic conditioning of their mind. Encouraging the reader to follow the spiritual path, or paths, pathed by their greater spiritual self. An alternative to paths intentionally or unintentionally chosen by the intimate people in his or her physical life.
Due to the powerful nature of its content; a conundrum of simplicity imbued with complexity, Spirituality 138 is the type of book that will deliver continual benefits to the reader, even when read on multiple occasions. As each new occasion unveils more of the beneficial wisdom silently residing within its pages. Preface
Writing my second book has again been such a fulfilling experience. Considering that even the thought of writing a book as little as five years ago would have seemed to me, and my loved ones, quite comical - my how we change.
Becoming an author was a positive consequence of sufferings I myself unconsciously manifested within my physical body. Physical pain, ill health, and depression; spanning many years, were the result of long-term, intense, chronic negative thinking and feeling. I had exhausted all avenues of conventional medicine in an attempt to find answers as to why the muscles in my thoracic region were wasting away. This muscle wasting responsible for an assortment of serious health issues; such being pain due to severe spinal misalignment, nerve damage, and susceptibility to viral, fungal and bacterial infections; while simultaneously experiencing a deep depression. This deep depression in turn negatively fuelled my physical illness and pain, thus perpetuating a vicious negative psychological-physical feedback loop.
Out of desperation I began to study spiritual/self-help literature. These teachings dictated that the nature and intensity of your thoughts, and corresponding emotions, govern the health and well-being of a given individual’s biology. I was able to comprehend these teachings theoretically, unfortunately though, at that time of my life, I lacked the ability to convert this amazing theory into physical practice. As a result, I spent many dark months repeatedly thinking that ending my physical life was the only option available in order to gain relief from my constant suffering.
Then one morning in 2008 whilst lying in my bed, I suddenly began to feel a distinct overwhelming sensation of peace, in conjunction with a complete understanding and acceptance of the transitional nature of death. I no longer wished to die, while simultaneously, having completely lost my fear of death. From that point on there has been an incredible clarity of thought, and a distinct shift in the nature of my thoughts, resulting in a slow steady healing and rehabilitation process in conjunction with an intricate understanding of issues concerning mind, body and spirit.
A few years passed before I logically understood that what I had experienced that day was a partial spiritual awakening. Then in 2014 after experiencing a tumultuous three years of life following the breakdown of my marriage in 2011, I experienced the final stage, which completed my spiritual awakening. This was distinctly clear, the catalyst being a complete detachment from all physical and non-physical form, while simultaneously experiencing a deep love and connection with all physical and non-physical form.
Towards the end of 2014 I began to have an overwhelming feeling to write about a simple, all-encompassing spiritual concept which I had mentally developed as a way of simplifying my perception of physical and spiritual data. This then became the basis for explaining the workings of a multitude of other issues spiritual in nature, which in turn physically manifested, becoming the words for my first book Cakemix Spirituality. My first book laid the foundation, for which this second book Spirituality 138 has now built on.
The driving force behind my writing is the hope to help individuals become more consciously aware of the nature and effects of their thoughts and corresponding emotive spiritual energy, aiding in the prevention of unnecessary suffering. It is a genuine attempt to generate beneficial positive ripples, in the quite often negative pond of physical life.

Chapter 1 138
138, what does this number represent? For many years I regularly asked myself this very question. From the time when I purchased my first car at the age of 16, to the present day, this number has been an intimate part of my life. My first car was not what you would call your traditional teenage purchase, it was a 1960 FB Holden, which was 29 years old at the time of purchase in 1989, and its state of disrepair was cleverly disguised! This was entirely an emotional purchase, had I known that my Father and I had to totally rebuild this particular car from the ground up; over a period of 12 months, I may have had second thoughts. In saying that, my Father shared with me an incredible amount of knowledge regarding cars, in particular the FB Holden, as he to as a young man owned the exact same model car, therefore saving me thousands of dollars in servicing costs over the next ten years of ownership of my totally rebuilt vintage FB Holden, my pride and Joy!
You may be wondering what relevance my car and the car my father used to own, has to the number 138.This particular model car came standard from the factory with a 138 cubic inch grey Holden motor. At the time of course these numbers were meaningless.
In about the fourth year of owning my car I decided to investigate the possibility of purchasing personalised registration plates, the intended letter and number combination reading JIM 138, but this exploration bared no fruit as the Roads and Transport authority informed me of the fact that this particular configuration of numbers and letters were no longer available for purchase, as a result I did not pursue personalised plates any further.
A few months passed; when to my surprise, while casually walking through the car park at the diesel locomotive workshop where I used to work as an electrician, I noticed a red Holden Commodore with personalised registration plates reading JIM 138. I had been working with the owner of this car; a fellow tradesman, for a little while and had never noticed his number plates, not at least consciously! I was astonished when I became aware of the close proximity of these registration plates due to the fact that there were millions of registered cars in Australia and the
