‘The sheer joy of wanderlust filled my heart’
Harjit Sohotey-Khan, 49, travelled the world when she was 43, changing the path of her life. She lives in east London with her husband Asad, 46, and runs ethical fashion brand Jewelled Buddha.
Working for an investment bank, I was bored and unfulfilled. Life was a stressful cycle of to-do lists, meetings and commuting, with the occasional holiday booked so Asad and I had something to look forward to. But I longed for more than a fortnight away. I wanted to travel longterm, soak up other cultures and take time to reflect on the life I wanted.
