Author

Tracey H. Kitts

USA Today and New York Times Best Selling Author I write paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy romance. I have wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. I write what I enjoy in the hopes that others will enjoy it as well. I've always been drawn to the macabre. Vampires, werewolves, you name it. I've never written about the paranormal because it's popular. I do it because that's what I'm interested in. If the vampire fad ever passes, I'll still be sitting here in my Dracula cape, getting my fang on.  I write erotic horror under the name T.K. Hardin.

    Chapter One

Rain began to fall softly as Kate and Rebecca watched Gerry finish digging the hole.

Why is he still a werewolf? I thought they turned human again after they were killed. Rebecca asked.

As she spoke she picked up a stick and poked the wolfman Gerry had recently killed.

    Stop doing that, Kate said.

It requires life energy to turn back, Gerry answered as he kept digging. Guess what you don’t have any left of when you die?

Then the movies are all bullshit? Rebecca asked.

Not entirely. Most people use their last bit of life to transform. That way, their family members or friends will find a body they recognize.

Does it make me a sick bitch that I find this fascinating?

Does it make me one that I’m not all that upset over someone dying? Kate asked.

He attacked me and threatened you, Gerry said. What choice did I have?

    None, the women answered together.

    Exactly.

Gerry crawled out of the hole he’d dug and both women did a double take. After all, he was still butt naked.

Kate’s heart fluttered as she took in the sight. Damn, he was gorgeous. The claw marks across his chest were already beginning to heal. She’d heard that werewolves healed quickly, but seeing it happen was pretty amazing.

Since I’m helping you hide a body, do I get to hear why you both were out here naked? Rebecca asked.

I was out for a run, Gerry said.

    Rebecca raised an eyebrow. Naked?

I was not in human form, he explained.

That sounds so freaky when you say it like that, Rebecca said. It’s going to take some getting used to. Okay, so you were out running full-wolf-wang through the woods. What about you? She directed the last part toward Kate.

After you passed out underneath the tree, I decided to take a swim. She shrugged. I didn’t want to get my clothes wet. That was all true. She simply left out the part about having great sex with Gerry on the grass beside the lake.

Gerry laughed softly. "This should not be funny, he said. Full-wolf-wang? Really, Becca?"

Hey, if I end up writing about a werewolf in my next book, I might use that, she insisted. So, what now?

Now, I’m going to bury this guy and we are not going to talk about this anywhere we can be overheard, Gerry said.

I have so many questions, Rebecca said.

    Me too, Kate said.

Gerry gave her a look that clearly showed regret. I’m sorry we haven’t had time to discuss ... so many things since you came back.

    So am I, Kate said.

Six years apart and miles of bullshit still lay between them, or so it seemed.

How long have you been a werewolf? Rebecca asked.

Almost six years exactly. It happened not long after Kate left me.

Hearing him talk about her leaving so mater-of-factly still stung a bit. But it was true. No matter how much she regretted it, she left him at the altar. There was no denying what a bitch move it was on her part.

One look at her life-long friend and she knew Rebecca was fighting hard to keep all of her questions to herself. That’s why Kate thought Rebecca made such a good writer. She was never afraid to ask questions and therefore she was full of random knowledge.

You’re taking this well, Gerry said to Rebecca as he knelt beside the body.

So are you. Kill people often? she joked.

Nope. This has only happened once before. He strained as he rolled the heavy werewolf into the shallow grave.

What the fuck? Rebecca and Kate said together.

Is that enough to kill him? Kate asked. Tearing his throat out? I thought you had to use silver or something, or is that all bullshit too?

No, silver will hurt us pretty badly. But if you give a werewolf an injury that he can’t recover quickly enough from, he will die.

And this was too much for an alpha werewolf? No offense, but the wound wasn’t overly deep, Kate said. "I mean, he was an alpha, right? He said you were in his territory."

In order to claim territory, I think he’d have to be, Gerry agreed. But he sure as hell looks dead to me. Besides that, I think I broke several ribs. There could have been internal damage that his body was already trying to repair and this was just too much.

You seem to know a lot about this, Rebecca said.

I had no choice but to learn.

Gerry picked up the shovel and started to cover the body. "Why don’t you two go on back to the house? I’ve got things covered here. Once I’m done, I’ll put the shovel up and run back
