We? The three of us. Sylvia, an ageless beauty. One could imagine Sylvia as a vampire, as she hasn’t changed in twenty years. That we’ve been acquainted. She could have been a dark-haired beauty in the movies, but she chose to be a poker player instead. One of the best. Lesbian? Could be, but we didn’t delve into each other’s personal lives. We only came together as friends to make money. If we had discussed our personal lives, it’s likely they each would have been about a series of poker games. Then, there was RD. RD and I have known each other for forty years. As far as I know, he has been in the gaming business all his life. Seventy years old now, he looks to be about fifty or so. In fact, we all seem to look awfully young for our age. With Sylvia, there’s no telling how old she is. Could be anywhere from thirty-five to sixty-five. Me, I’m seventy-one and have a hard time believing it, and still more, like an old steam engine. I’ll quit when I reach one hundred. I’m Brother Jackson, long blond hair, no grey.
