INTRODUCTION

By urgent request I have decided to place this teaching in book form in order that it may be translated into other languages. It is my intent that it may bring more understanding concerning the moving of the Holy Spirit to many people. As I traveled to India at the beginning of 1992, the Lord spoke and said, The door of the Spirit is open to you in India. When God opens a door it is a sure thing that He will be pouring out His blessings upon that nation. The first trip to this great nation, I ministered over 45 times in the following six weeks. I was privileged to watch a mighty move of the Lord Jesus Christ as many persons came into the full knowledge of Holy Spirit Baptism, healing, and salvation. In every church where I ministered I saw a powerful move of God. It did not matter what denomination it was, the people were hungry for the truth of the living God, whose name is Jesus the Christ.

It is my understanding that in one of the churches where I ministered they had not heard of the Holy Spirit and most were not even born again. Many were saved, healed, filled with the Holy Spirit and now that church is completely changed. The Pastor told me that his ministry was completely changed and that he now knew the reality of the things of our Lord Jesus.

After returning to this great nation the fall of 1992, I realized the great need to put time and effort into the writing of this book. I was asked a question by Dr. Thomas Mathews, of the Filadelphia Bible College. He asked, Would you please teach us how to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit? I have asked the Lord to help me as I began to listen to the Him concerning this subject. As the anointing came to me in the beginning of my ministry, I did not realize that all people did not receive the anointing so easily. I now understand that the Lord has given this to me that I might teach others to receive. I will endeavor to write to the best of my abilities those things that you need to know about receiving the anointing of the Lord.

I feel that it will be the most effective if I combine it with the actual teaching on the Holy Spirit. Take just a few minutes now to give thanks and praise to Jesus before continuing on. This will help your heart be open to receive the things that you need in your life that the anointing of the Lord may be upon you.

You must remember to really dedicate yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ and be willing to walk in His righteousness. You must have a strong desire to be obedient to him and not self. You must be willing to walk through the fires of tribulations and let Him melt you before His throne. The Lord Jesus will then make you, and perfect you in His will and His ways, not your own. It is a process that takes time. Don't get impatient with yourself or think that He has given up on you. He will work in His time. That is something that is a trial in itself. He knows what it takes to work the good fruit in His children.

I was born in Illinois where most of my young life was spent. I was married to my husband Samuel in 1956 and we lived in El Paso Texas. He was in the Air Force and I had my first experience with the Texas winds as they blew my first wash off the line and covered them with Sand. We had two girls and two boys. After Air Force life, we moved back to my home state of Illinois and eventually Sam got into the golf course business. We moved to Dauphin Island, AL where Sam became the pro and I ran the pro shop and played golf. We were married for 56 years before he went home to be with the Lord.

At age 32 I met Jesus personally and a few years later I began to preach. Since that time, I have seen His miracles as I traveled in India. I have seen the salvation of souls as God has used me in His mighty ways. He has filled the multitudes with His Holy Spirit as I prayed for them. He is true and performs His Word with signs following. As you study this book, you will find that He will use you also.

I began in 1979 as the corresponding secretary and then as president of local Women’s Aglow. In 1982, I started to pastor a store front church in Bloomington, IL. And soon began to preach on WVEL radio out of Pekin-Peoria, IL and that was the time that Someone To Care started as it was the programs name. In the early 90’s I began holding crusades in India. After a few more years I went on TV in Peoria, IL and then in Bloomington, IL. At present time, as I publish this book via eBook, I am still ministering on TV in Dothan, AL and Bonifay, FL. I am also teaching and preaching via Skype to pastors in India. I am at present 78 years old, and have spent much of my life preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I love Jesus.

Chapter I

THE HOLY SPIRIT HIMSELF

ATTRIBUTES

Let us begin by defining the word attribute. It covers characteristic, quality, trait, virtue, endowment, gift, and talent. As we look at some of the attributes of the Holy Spirit you will find quality of ministry. The things that Jesus did were effective. We cannot be effective without his attributes. Look at his traits and allow his traits to become your traits. In other words take on his mannerisms and features. Trait even means peculiarity. You can read in I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

Another attribute that we should seek to obtain is virtue. Virtue includes morality, innocence, force, power, chastity etc. These are very necessary if we are to minister virtue as Jesus did. Jesus knew in Himself that virtue had gone out of him as the woman came for healing Mark 5:30. His virtue was so pure and good that it healed the woman with the issue of blood. That is the anointing, the presence of the Spirit of God. Jesus prayed daily and communed with His Father and received strength, thus carrying His spirit. So much can be said on each one of these subjects and I do pray that you will take seriously each attribute of Jesus and look up these words and learn of him in a deeper and fuller way. Let these attributes become alive in you, and find the endowment for all of His gifts bestowed upon you.

NATURAL GIFTS AND TALENTS

You will receive his gifts and His talents as you take upon yourself His attributes. He will not withhold any talents from you that would assist you in being made and perfected in his attributes. You will then receive His plans for your life. Some people think they have no gifts or talents and perhaps they don't. Jesus is ready to endow His gifts and talents upon them. We must be ready to say to Him, I want everything that you have for me. You see, when we ask we will receive. Matthew 7:8 For everyone that asketh receiveth; He that
