About this ebook

In today's hurried life, where everything is rush rush, rush, we often feel over whelmed and at a loss. We don't always get time to sit at the feet of Jesus and just drink in His love and presence. Spending time with the Lord, daily, is important as this feeds us spiritually. With this devotional, my prayer is that you will find it easier to make time for His presence with a weekly Scripture to inspire, a prayer to help you in your conversation with Jesus and further scripture readings on the topic of discussion.

    Prologue

The cover image is that of a sunset over the sea. This is in essence what this devotional is really all about- when we get to the end of each day, that by the way was brand new when we received it, and we look at the sun setting over that day....we are reassured that God held us, He kept us and He will continue to do so each day while we are alive. The water is symbolic to the Word of God, the Bible, which inspires and motivates and also holds all the answers to daily living.

The title of this devotional was inspired by the well-known Psalm 91 verses 9 to 3:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say to the LORD, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.  For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

It is when we dwell, abide, stay in Christ and His Word is within us, that we dwell and abide also in His very presence or shadow. That is protection, safety, provision and love all wrapped up together. You cannot get a safer and better place to be but in His shadow of blessing and protection. A dismal comparison would be: when a fearsome tornado or hurricane strikes and you run for protection; hidden in a steel encased, shock absorbing, food and water stocked shelter underneath the ground. That is safety. That is comfort. That is peace.

There is not an issue or a problem in life that the Word of God does not cover. It is for daily living. In this hurried and hectic world we live in, we often find our energy, both spiritual and physical, sapped by circumstances beating down on us. God's word is alive with power and encouragement.

    I have decided on a
