The 5:2 fast diet is a diet that involves strict calorie restriction for 2 days in a week and normal unrestricted calorie intake for the remaining 5 days.
This diet restriction started in the UK, spreading to other European countries and to the USA. The 5:2 fast diet is a type of intermittent fasting, which alternates between a period of fasting and non-fasting.
