    Scene 1

    (Scene opens in a mostly empty courtroom. The only ones there are the Prosecution and the Bailiff who are quietly chatting with each other. The Defense Attorney and Gaming Industry both walk in closing the door loudly behind them. The sound of the door closing causes the Prosecution and Bailiff to stop talking. Gaming Industry and D.A. go to take their seats but the Prosecution approaches the D.A. before he can sit down.)

    D.A.

    You’re here early.

    PROSECUTION

    The trial begins long before the judge walks in greenhorn. We’ll just count that as the first of many lessons you’ll receive today.

    GAMING INDUSTRY

    Please sir. I’m just trying to run a business here.

    (One by one members of the jury and court members begin to walk in and take their seats.)

    PROSECUTION

    We’ll see about that.

    D.A.

    Just because you’re too old to understand his product doesn’t mean that you get to take your petty frustrations out on my client.

    PROSECUTION

    I’m not trying to bully you y’know. You just happen to be on the wrong side.

    D.A.

    (Coldly) I think we should take our seats now.

    (The Prosecution and D.A. take their seats on each end of the courtroom. The last of the jury and court members sit down and the Bailiff stands to address everyone.)

    BAILIFF

    All rise for the honorable Judge Samuel.

    (The Judge enters and takes his seat.)

    JUDGE

    You may be seated. The court case of Gaming Industry vs. the State is now in session. Would the prosecution
