SCENE 1
On stage, there are two cages. One is empty and Nadia is in the other. Her clothes are tattered and stained with blood. One side of the stage has a well arranged cluster of furniture that should be the setting of the court. Down stage are crowds of people who have frozen and not part of the present setting; anytime there is a court proceeding, the crowd comes back to life
Nadia is in a cage surrounded by a wire mesh. She seems to be in deep thought. She turns and twists with anxiety and tiredness. She bangs the cage and screams hysterically.
Nadia: I have tried not to think about it but apparently I can’t. My flesh is intact but my blood; with pain it bleeds of loath, disgust and self pity. As sexy as you might think I look; I see myself as dirt, dirtier than the volcanic sand. I know you don’t believe me, in fact I know you think I am insane. You think what you want and let me think what I want. What the hell, it won’t be written on my back.
