Some Happy Endings are Found in the Beginning

About this ebook
Like thousands of others, Paballo is an African young girl who is forced to prematurely see the world around her as cruel and unfortunate. Her story is about loss, pain, depression and death but hidden in between the lines of this book lies a powerful story about love that is found in the strangest of places and the gift of life that is so easily taken away.
Lebogang Maragelo
Lebogang Maragelo is a visionary, who often describes herself as a reluctant writer, critical thinker, leader and hopeless optimist whose greatest fear is the rampant cynicism that threatens to consume her hope for the future. She is a Philomath who is currently studying Law and Political Studies in a South African university, her passions include social justice and the socio-economic liberation of Africa. Beyond that, Lebogang spends her time immersed in mentorship and entrepreneurial work with her Non-Profit organisation- Phetogo Foundation. Her hope is to constantly engage with the world around her and ensure that it is freed from what she has come to call ‘the plague of denialism’.

Dedicating your first piece of officially written and recognised work to particular individuals seems to be more daunting than actually writing the piece of work. Where do I begin, and how do I ensure my list of acknowledgements does not become another story itself? It’s a difficult task but here goes:
To papa (Baleseng Alpheus Maragelo), thank you for loving me- I wish you were here to read this. To all my mothers, there are oh so many of you, all over the country, and you have all patiently sculpted me regardless of the times that I- the sculpture- tried to sabotage your creation.
And to my friends (Johannah, Ntombi, Bonolo, Ayanda and Millie) you have all taught me how to accept the love I receive from people, and in return I share my first love with you. Nyasha, thank you for reminding me to share my gift.
Last but certainly not least Keorapetse Matsime, you have been my Thabiso, my own personal hero and joy, I love you.
