About this ebook

Writing commercial fiction is a challenge for many authors. Have you ever said: "I can't plot...?" If you have, your struggles with plotting your fiction are over.

You're about to discover the easiest, fastest, and most fun plotting method ever. You can use it for all your fiction, whether you're writing short stories, novellas or novels. Take control of your fiction now, and publish more, more easily.

This method will work for you, whether you've yet to write a novel, or have written a dozen novels.

The "easy" plotting method starts with creating a single character. Not only will you discover how to create original characters, you’ll create original plots too. And they’ll be plots which readers love.

You'll also discover a "plotless" method of plotting in this book. This is my favorite plotting method, because you're writing free-style. Oddly enough, the plotless method helps you to create wonderful plots.

Enjoy plotting your fiction: it's easier than you can imagine, and much more fun too.

    Introduction: plotting the EASY way

    Hi Fellow Writer

    Who can use this book?

YOU… Any writer, new or established, who wants to learn to write fiction or who is having trouble writing fiction. It's most especially for those writers who have problems plotting their fiction. Plotting seems to present more hassles for fiction authors than anything else.

Do you hate writing? Maybe you're unsure of yourself. You procrastinate.

Or maybe you love writing, but your novels and short stories don't click for readers.

Whatever your challenges as a writer might be, you want a plotting system that's easy, and that works.

    You're in the right place.

    That said…

There is no right way to plot, and no plotting method works for every book

You will find that your plotting methods change from book to book, and vary even over different sections of the same book.

In time, you will internalize plotting, and you won't need to think about it. When that happy day arrives, you will be a much more confident writer. Until then, look on plotting as a lot of fun, because it is.

There many plotting systems. In this book you'll discover the systems which work for me, and for my students.

My easy system is freeform if you're a natural pantser. On the other hand, if you love to plot, you can use the system to plot every scene in your novel.

A suggestion: it doesn't matter how or when you plot. What matters is your passion and inspiration while you're writing.

Whether you're a new writer, or are an experienced pro, plotting can be a challenge. You start off with an idea for a story, and you create an outline, or you don't.

Either way, you start writing. And then you stop. Your inspiration has flown away, and you didn't even hear the beat of its wings as it fluttered off. Suddenly, your idea seems silly. Even stupid. You realize that you dislike your characters. Making these stick figures perform seems like an exercise in futility. If you don't like them, your readers won't like them either.

Within few days or weeks, depending on how persistent you are, you've given up on your novel.

The above is a long-winded way of saying that it doesn't matter how or when you plot.

Look on your plot as a way of igniting your inspiration. A great plot achieves nothing, if you're bored with your novel. If that happens, readers will be bored too.

You can plot before you start your story, while you're writing it, and when you've completed a first draft, and want something more.

This book will build your confidence with writing fiction.

    Which brings us to…

The secret to plotting (and everything else) write anyway

When you KNOW without a shadow of a doubt, that you're good at plotting, it can be the best tool in your toolbox. It builds your confidence. You'll write great stories.

I used to be the kind of writer who had to KNOW — I wanted to know
