From as far back as I can remember I have been a creator. Even before I understood that being artistic is a very precious gift that should be expressed and celebrated at all costs. Every facet of our lives encompasses some form of music. Imagine for a moment what a party, a club, a festival, or just simply riding in your car would be like without music. However, music can’t exist, without it first being created by people like you and me, the artists and musicians, who make it. Fortunately for us, the current direction and business model of our industry is undergoing forced change. In the innovation rules, ask for forgiveness rather than permission, private equity driven startup ecosystem, startup technology companies like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter are rapidly changing the way music is created, marketed, distributed and consumed. You can literally create a song and have it available for sale in less than one week. The process that once took months and a team of professionals can now be done by one person
