FOREWORD
In 2003, at her Arise! Ministry Conference, I met a humble and powerful woman of God. Her name was Marilyn. Today, that woman is my confidante, kindred spirit, soul-stirring cheerleader, and a voice of reality and revelation! The Lord has truly blessed her. We celebrate our friendship every week in what I call ‘Mondays with Marilyn’ – our special time together. Our lives have been parallel and powerful. We’ve shared the same experiences at the same time, in different spaces and places in every area of our lives; family, business, and ministry.
Marilyn has the power to pull together a community of like-minded and empowered people (especially women) to shift souls and change destinies! Her no-nonsense approach to telling the truth for the liberation of all is the fulfillment of her calling (for the truth shall surely set you free). I know that the Lord is with her! This Renaissance woman is a preacher, teacher, psalmist, innovator, and visionary!
This book is full of wisdom through experiences and transformations of life. You will laugh, cry, get angry, and be ecstatically elated at the end of each story – and none of us will ever be the same!
Thank you, M.E., for sharing the life-changing power through ‘HERSTORY’! As you say and I feel: I love you to life, my Sista!

About M.E. Porter
Not everyone easily shows up in the world as themselves! The masks are often plastered on in layers and people are often lost in the lies of the façade far longer than necessary. Not so with M.E. Porter. The Spiritual Guiding Light has always revealed her purpose. Amid telling a few lies, M.E. has never been untrue about who and what God has called her to BE.
M.E. gets down and dirty about the trials and seeming defeats of her life. You will be drawn into her theatrical story-telling each time she speaks. Living on the promise the Lord spoke to her many years ago, I will never allow them to hurt you with your story
, M.E. boldly and unapologetically speaks of sexual immorality, abortion, divorce, and disloyalty – to herself and others.
M.E. is a firm believer that your gifts, talents, skills, and (most importantly) the anointing of God announces you to the world, so it is a rare occasion when she functions in titles. She is a minister of the gospel, teacher, encourager, motivator, and mentor. A skilled singer and writer, M.E. stands fully in the Five-Fold Ministry and operates in the apostolic mantel that rests on her life.
Mother. Minister. Mentor. Motivator. Media Personality. Mogul-in-the-Making.
She is M.E. Porter – The Soul Shifter.

If God is Love, Then Who am I?
…love is kind and thoughtful…
M.E. Porter
I remember thinking to myself that it was so sad my uncle had passed away. After all, he had been such an intricate part of my life – perhaps the only man I had ever witnessed be a great father and a loving husband. So why don’t I feel sadness for myself?
I am sad for my mom because she lost her brother.
I am sad for his children because they lost their father.
I am sad for my other cousins because they lost their uncle.
I am sad for his friends because they lost a great friend.
Oh – and his neighbors…my uncle was a great neighbor.
Perhaps the whole world will suffer at the loss of this great man – yet I feel nothing!
I am sure that some would say I had simply been in shock (or even denial) – unable to feel anything. After all, only 30 minutes had passed since my nosey neighbor barged into my auntie’s bathroom – where I sat on the toilet with my pretty pink panties at my ankles – and very excitedly exclaimed that she heard my uncle had just died.
Why is she in this bathroom?
was my first thought. Oh my goodness: Am I supposed to get upset and, if so, what facial expression should I be flaunting?
As these thoughts
