Sorn
Sorn got up from his warm bed, huffing. Jani was still sleeping beside him. He had not clung to him in his sleep. He never did. Three months had passed since Thiar had, laughing, tossed him in Sorn’s bed. The boy was twenty years old and he’d been bought for the king. And as Thiar had said, Jani had only ever been intimate with him. Sorn sighed deeply. It hurt. It had been great fun in the beginning. His lean, lithe body, his sweet face, and those immense blue eyes made him dangerous. Unlike Thiar, Sorn wasn’t crazy about red hair. But the boy had been bought simply because he looked like their fertile royal Rami. When Thiar hadn’t managed to have his redhead he’d been furious at first, he’d smashed half of the royal furniture and then he’d dived into the brothels of the capital to unload his anger. He wanted a surrogate so he wouldn’t go crazy while waiting. Sorn had gladly kept him company. And in the best brothel of the capital, Thiar had seen the young man, a virgin, for sale. But less than a month after the transaction, he’d been able to capture the only redhead Thiar truly wanted, in his heart, not in his bed. Thiar had probably given Jani to him as a reward. Since he’d refused to accept twice the weight in gold of little Liam. Who cared, he was rich enough already – second only to the king – and he didn’t want to drain his kingdom’s treasury.
He’d been really happy to find the Rami for his cousin, but he’d never imagined that his way of thanking him would have caused so much chaos. Jani was as beautiful as he was distant. Oh, sure, the boy let Sorn take him in any way and any time he asked. He just had to point and the boy would lay down on the furs covering the floor, or on the bed, and would let Sorn take him. Sorn knew his sexual appetite was considerable, not to say uncommon. And winter certainly didn’t help. The frost had blocked all passages, limiting activities. The best thing was to relax under the blankets, holding a warm, soft body after enjoying their pleasure. Too bad he was nothing but a sweet doll. It shouldn’t have been a problem. Sorn was supposed to use him to warm his bed for the winter, as was written in his contract. Too bad he’d been bewitched by the sadness and loneliness in those huge blue mirrors. And by his constant silence. The boy was only apparently obedient. He actually kept his distance from everything and everyone. A courtesan should have tried to stay in his good graces, in order to remain at court after the end of his contract – smiling at him, entertaining him with funny stories or songs… but the boy spent hours in silence, reading the books he found in the room. Once, coming back unannounced, Sorn had found him reading a book with a dim smile on his face. Which had disappeared as soon as he’d arrived.
