I am an aspiring architect, counsellor, teacher, preacher, artist and poet. I am also chairperson of Auckland Community Church (ACC), a non-denominational GLBT-affirming congregation. There is a growing movement of queer evangelicals and gay Christians worldwide, seeking to banish homophobia from religious and political conservatives. Our church supports this movement; we have a unique voice and a way of bridging a divide between conservative and liberal Christians. Although many liberal churches promote gay rights, our movement is uniquely ambitious: challenging conservative evangelism from within the faith, and showing that it is possible to be both queer and Christian.view less
