Chapter One
I didn’t know his name. The man sleeping beside me. He was another faceless body in a long line of lovers. I guess I was kind of a whore for so many men by twenty. Or I could say I was just really skilled. I grinned as I sat up in bed. Or maybe a lot of men liked big black cock. Smiling now, I slid my legs off the bed and carefully got up without waking him. We were in my family house a few blocks from the Outlaw MC clubhouse, a spare bedroom. Even after the quake rocked Mars about a week ago, this house still stood. I grabbed a pair of underclothes, a light chocolate color that nearly matched my skin.
This is an emergency broadcast.
The radio suddenly clicked on. It was programmed to auto start with an urgent message.
Shit. I was supposed to be at a speech. The bodyguard hadn’t woken me up because I was fucking said bodyguard last night. It got a bit wild and we slept in from sheer exhaustion. He was the guy sitting up in bed right now. A man projected holographically above the radio. One of our new and expensive tech breakthroughs. I sat on the edge of the bed and sighed. My father was going to kill me for missing this thing.
This is Mack McDougal reporting from the center of the city. We’re coming to you live where President Justice is about to speak.
The image shifted to my father walking up to a podium. It flickered briefly and focused on my father’s face. Citizens of Mars. I know you’re all still trying to pick up the pieces from the quake. We lost many souls and they should each be mourned. But that time is not now. The storm approaching is the biggest on record and it’s only getting stronger. We’ve set up safe buildings, those that are away from the taller buildings and have been fortified to withstand the winds that are going to sweep through our magnificent city. We have a team of scientists on Earth, some of the best of the Outlaw MC. I know there is some opposition to this plan but Mars is dying. And if we do not leave, we’ll die with this planet. I’m confident the expedition team will find a new home for us. We will be evacuated to our original planet but to do so we must brace for this coming storm. Free supplies are being handed out at Harley’s Store. Do not think of material possessions. They can be replaced. It’s lives we want to save. You can clearly see the massive storm approaching from the rim of the city. Please, heed this warning. Stay safe.
The image flickered back to the well-dressed reporter with his hair slicked back. Sweat beaded his forehead on account of the extreme weather we’d been having. President Justice has urged residents to take shelter but what’s on this reporter’s mind? Well, that would be that the president’s only son, Helrick Ashton, was noticeably absent.
Shit.
Does this mean the opposition to our move to Earth is led by him? If the son disagrees with the father, then who exactly is right? I for one have heard from those in the city, most are against our foolish pursuit to Earth. But a mandatory evacuation order was given so is that why Helrick Ashton has refused to appear for this speech?
No, asshole, it’s because I was busy fucking the bodyguard.
This is Mack McDougal reporting from the center of the city. Thank you for joining us and stay tuned for our afterthought on the absence of the president’s son and the increase in security surrounding the ruling family.
The image flickered off and then the radio went quiet plunging the room into silence. Thomas. My name instead of bodyguard.
I shrugged.
When’s your father coming home?
Was the bodyguard afraid of getting caught with no pants on? Never.
I stood up. Both my fathers are staying in the city.
The bodyguard, sorry Thomas, frowned but quickly covered it up with a cough. I have to get back on duty.
He stood. His tall, lean body naked and looking good with some morning wood.
I watched him as he stuffed all that pale goodness into his clothes and left without another word. I guess I should get dressed too. I’d need a layer of protection for my skin after my fathers were done with me.
****
Do you know all the shit your father had to go through to get where he is today?
Romeo had a voice decibel of nine … out of ten.
It was an accident.
I spoke quietly, calmly. Why get upset? I couldn’t change the past.
An accident? An accident!
Romeo shouted.
At forty-eight he had a lot less of the scare factor than the old days. Are you going to yell at me all night or accept my apology?
You little…
He pressed his lips together. You’re ridiculous. That’s the six or seventh guard. What if you’d been attacked? How the hell was he going to get to his gun when his pants are around his fucking ankles?
Eight. Eight guards.
I was counting.
Romeo rubbed a hand through his short brown hair. I knew for a fact he pulled out the gray strands. There is a real threat out there, Helrick. People who want to kill your father and they don’t mind hurting you and me to get to him. We have to be smart about this.
I’d been hearing this all my life. What makes this threat any different than the last one?
There was a big war on Mars where my father Justice and the Outlaw MC rose up to defeat the old ways. No more black men as slaves. No more women as breeders. I’d heard the tale from school and from the Outlaws themselves since I joined their MC last year. There’s always a threat. I’m always locked away in this house. I can’t go to the clubhouse, I can’t see my friends, and I can’t go near fucking windows.
Romeo sighed. "I know it’s
