INTRODUCTION
Brady has found himself in the biggest rut of his life. His job is in jeopardy, his confidence and self-belief are suffering, his marriage is on shaky ground, and he is spending every single day just barely staying afloat.
Each time he seems to find a second to catch his breath, something else goes wrong and the wind is, once again, stolen from his chest. Brady knows this is no way to live his life, but he doesn’t know of any other way. He is looking for answers but isn’t sure where to find them.
Brady is in a place we can all relate to. His struggles and hardships are common, but the lessons he will learn throughout this story are not common at all. In fact, quite the opposite.
So let me ask you…
Do you feel stuck in your own life?
Are you unsure of how to achieve your dreams?
Are you letting your setbacks determine your next steps?
This powerful parable is just what you need to get back on the path to living a fearless life. You will hear amazing insight and inspiring life lessons from mentors, coaches, entrepreneurs, and super heroes who have changed the world by first changing their own lives. Now it’s time to let them change your life, as well.

"Surrender to what is. Let go of what was.
Have faith in what will be."
-Sonia Ricotti
The rainy, foggy morning dawned just like Brady’s mood—dark and depressing. As he rolled out of bed, he groaned at the thought of the day ahead. Work these days was a constant stream of unreasonably demanding customers, his boss breathing down his neck, and co-workers that cared only for the zeros at the end of their paychecks. And home wasn’t much better, either.
He knew he was holding on by a thread, and needed a change, but had no idea where to even begin. He had a family to feed and bills to pay, and the current economy wasn’t exactly conducive to finding another decent paying job. He had to face facts—he was stuck, and at this point everything seemed totally hopeless.
He turned on the shower to drown out the sound of his two daughters yelling for him. He did not feel up to playing referee to their daily battle over the only other bathroom in the house. Brady focused on the sound of the water and slowly stepped into the shower. Finally some peace, he thought.
Brady!
his wife yelled through the door as she banged on it with her fist. I need to get in there. I have an eight o’clock meeting, and I can’t be late. Oh, and don’t forget you’re taking the girls to school today.
I’ll be just a second, Cherie. Tell the girls to quit arguing and get dressed. We’re leaving in 15 minutes,
he replied wearily.
Truth be told, he had forgotten all about taking the girls to school today and was supposed to be in early himself for a meeting with his boss, but thought better of mentioning that. Cherie had been more than patient with him lately, and he knew it would not go over well for him if he did not come through for her. His marriage was already on shaky ground, and Brady feared that even the slightest argument could make or break the situation. He certainly did not want to make it worse than it already was.
Brady dressed quickly, while calling for the girls to meet him downstairs.
Lexi! Harper! The car is pulling out of the driveway in three minutes and will leave without you if you are not outside,
he shouted.
He walked downstairs to the kitchen, poured himself a cup of coffee to go, and rapidly scrolled through his phone. Twenty-eight emails, five text messages, and three missed calls already, and it was only 7:30 in the morning. He rubbed his temples in frustration and took a deep breath…clearly, it was going to be one of those days.
The girls piled into the car, still carrying on about who was hogging the bathroom earlier. Sometimes he felt like they were only quiet when they were sleeping. As much as he loved them both, they were in that stage where every little thing was a dramatic, and often teary eyed, event and the entire world was woefully unfair. It was a bit trying at times—especially with the way things were at work. Most days, Brady felt like he barely even had a moment to breathe.
He pulled up to the school and instructed the girls to hurry in so they wouldn’t be late.
I love you both! Have a great day,
he said with forced enthusiasm as they hopped out of the car.
Love you too, Daddy,
they said in unison as the car doors slammed shut.
Brady maneuvered back into traffic and headed for the highway. He found himself hoping his boss was in a good mood today as he hurriedly sent him a text saying he was 10 minutes out. Brady was also hoping traffic would cooperate; he knew he couldn’t afford to run any later than he already was. The entire drive in to the office Brady’s thoughts were consumed with how out-of-control he felt regarding his life. He spent a lot of time hoping things would go his way, and he didn’t like it.
Brady pulled into the garage, grabbed his laptop bag, and raced to the elevator, while pulling on his sport coat. As he practically ran to his boss’ office, he realized he had left his coffee in the car. Ugh, he thought to himself. There was no time to pour another cup on the way up. As always, every little thing that could go wrong was already going wrong. What a way to start the day.
Brady rushed in the door to his boss’ office and sat down in one of the chairs in front of his massive desk. It was hard to imagine that he could feel any smaller than he did in that moment. Little did he know, it was about to get much worse.
Brady, so glad you could make it,
his boss said with a bit of edge and sarcasm in his voice.
I’m sorry. I got caught up in traffic this morning, and it delayed me a bit,
he replied hoping his boss didn’t see the white lie in his eyes.
Now normally, Brady, things like that aren’t a problem—they happen to everybody. But this has become a pattern of behavior for you. I have noticed over the last few months that you are late a few times a week, and your clients have complained of the same thing,
he said.
And not only that, your work product has suffered, your sales are down, and you don’t participate in any of the team building activities with your co-workers. Personally, I think you’re a great guy, Brady, but I’ve got to tell you I’m worried about your future here,
his boss said sternly.
We hired you because you were one of the best salesmen this side of the Mississippi. You had a fabulous track record prior to coming over to our side. It seems you were able to maintain that for a little while, but things have been sliding off a cliff lately, and I can’t have that. I’ve got to answer to the folks upstairs about the performance of my sales team. I can’t have you making me look bad.
Look, Boss, I know I haven’t exactly been on my game lately, but I’ll pull things back together. Things have been very stressful ever since I lost my biggest account to the merger, and I’ve been off ever since. If you can just give me a few weeks to turn this around, I promise I won’t let you down,
Brady said earnestly.
"Alright Brady, I’ll give you 30 days to get your act together and get your numbers back up. But that’s it—not one minute over 30 days or I’ll have no choice but
