About this ebook
This book is not an exhaustive treatise on the King James Bible nor is it intended to be. The author's intention is to show that the King James Bible is the reliable, authoritative Bible to the English-speaking world. Sadly, there is an attack on the King James Bible even from Pentecostal leaders themselves. This is unwarranted and should not gain any favor with the true, authentic people of God! Actually, much research has been done on this subject throughout the hundreds of years the King James Bible has been in existence. This book assembles much knowledge that has already been discovered and proclaimed in one way or another throughout these years. Much of the book is written in first person because it was gleaned from a series of Sunday Bible lessons taught in the author's church.
John F. Scheel
Founding pastor of the LIghthouse Pentecostal Church, Beebe, AR in 1966. Has written two books, Women in Ministry, a defense of lady ministers, and KJV or KJB, which is a defense of the King James Bible.

Introduction
This book is not about me. It is about the KJB: but I want to briefly share my testimony as to what the King James Bible has meant to me. I was only seventeen years old when the Word of God spoke to me to build a church in Beebe, Arkansas. On my high school graduation night, May 1, 1966, I got the key to the church in Stuttgart, Arkansas from Bro. Buddy and Sis. Shirley Looper. I had to have some answers. I had hitch- hiked 42 miles one-way my last two years of high school to attend the Christian school in Stuttgart, but now that I had finished, I needed new direction!
It was after prayer and meditation that I felt to go to Beebe, Arkansas, and start a church. I had preached my first revival in a storefront there, on my 14th birthday. I had always had a burden for that city.
Please remember that I had no family encouragement to the ministry. I had a good home, but certainly not of the Pentecostal persuasion.
I put my clothes in a cardboard box and a paper sack. Sisters Jeannie Marshall (Hancock), Nettie Mae Watts, and Lorene Looper took me to Beebe. I moved in with Buster and Julie White. I also stayed with George and Mary Hanna some. We rented a store building in McRae and had church there for almost three years before finding yet another store building in Beebe.
During the short duration at McRae, at the age of 20, God gave me the most pristine anointed, talented, beautiful and dedicated wife that a man could ever ask for. Sister Vickie (Hackler) Scheel has walked beside me with the same calling to obey the Word of God. God blessed us to build a church and then a Christian school. Each of our children, VaLynn, Jason, and Vonda, were chiseled out of the same Rock
as their mother. They each took their place in the call of God and the ministry of our church. I cannot dare exclude their Godly companions, Dustin Mills, Violet (Kyzar) Scheel, and George Bradley. They have provided us with seven of the most wonderful grandchildren in the world!
Our church has experienced two tornados and storms from Hurricane Rita, but truth marches on.
My son, Jason, is preparing to take my place. He is alive today because of nothing short of a miraculous healing when he was only a baby. VaLynn is one of the top organists in the Pentecostal Church today. My baby,
Vonda, is the choir director for the church and the principal of our Christian school!
After the music is stilled, the sermons are finished, the bass drum is still and the organ is not to be heard and you find yourself going to God with questions and a heart that is crushed, remember this. When the answers come it will always be from God’s word. It heals, builds, mends, renews, revives, encourages, leads, guides, teaches and empowers. The same call that has been on my life all of these years is moving me to proclaim with great passion that we must not allow the King James Bible to be replaced by watered down, contradictory interpretations that are in many cases only blasphemy!
I also wish to express my gratitude to the following people for encouraging me to write this book, proof-reading, grammar, and scripture proof texts in this book:
Dr. Ruth Couch
Sisters Linda Kyzar
Bobbie Lively
Dianne Pulse
and Rev. O.C. Marler
Introduction and Dedication
First, and foremost, it is with great joy that I can say my family has never brought me shame or reflected contempt for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am dedicating this book to them. When I leave this life, I want them to understand the doctrine, why I accept the King James Bible and why outward holiness is an adornment to the body of Christ. I realize that the next generation is nearing the threshold of taking authority in the modern-day apostolic movement, and it is our God-given responsibility to teach them the truths of the Bible that will prepare them to make the correct choices in their hearts. These valuable truths are given to them as their heritage even now and for sure after we step off the stage of our lives.
This book is not an exhaustive treatise on the King James Bible nor is it intended to be. It is truly amazing the way God has protected it, let it come into the hands of people who were less than desirable, and has preserved it as the faithful Bible of the centuries to the English-speaking world!
Some have questioned even the morals of King James. Whatever they may have been, it only makes the preservation of the King James Bible more astounding than ever.
I intend to show that the King James Bible is the reliable, authoritative Bible to the English-speaking world.
Sadly, there is an attack on the King James Bible from Pentecostal leaders themselves. This is unwarranted and should not gain any favor with the true, authentic people of God!
Actually, much research has been done on this subject throughout the hundreds of years the King James Bible has been in existence. This book will assemble much knowledge that has already been discovered and proclaimed in one way or another throughout these years.
Much of this book is written in first person because it was gleaned from a series of Sunday Bible lessons taught to my church.
Chapter One
Beliefs Concerning Biblical Authority
Psalm 119:11-12 Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, oh Lord. Teach me thy statutes.
You cannot set aside the authority of the will of God! Evangelism is wonderful. I’ve been in services, heard preaching and seen such conviction fall on the people that eternity became so real you could almost smell the fires of Hell. More than just a few times I have preached when the altars were filled with people praying through. They would run to the altar with tears streaming down. If they don’t get some depth in the Word of God, they won’t stick.
Psalm 119:11 said, Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, oh Lord, teach me thy statutes.
You cannot become the mature Christian you want to be without a love for the Word of God.
Now let me say this; I know and I am acutely aware Pentecostals are traditional, and sometimes the night services are more rambunctious and given over to flamboyant worship. I am one preacher who greatly encourages people to enter his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.
Psalms 100:4. If I ever build another church, I may name it The Church That Is Not Bored. Of course, it’s different. We have variety. You can’t get locked into only eating ice cream. You need balance. You need a little ham and greens, some pork loin and even a big old bone to chew on. Sometimes you get teaching that gives you the belly ache. Oh, but just hang on. You’ll get over it and you’ll even get where you like it. If you don’t want to be taught, you’re going to get in trouble eventually. So we need to recognize and accept teaching. Your word, if I can get it in my heart, is what’s going to help me and you’re going to teach me your law.
Psalm 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
In ancient times, and no doubt this is probably what David was referring to, they had special shoes made. Candles or lights were placed on the end of the shoes when they were outside. They had no electricity or Evereadys that are common to us. They eased along and as they took steps, of course, their candle went with them and it would light their path. So listen to what God is saying through King David. You can know, on the journey of life,
