Eightfold Way - J.D. Stonebridge
Chapter One
Possession. The act of a foreign being entering a body and taking over it. That was something cinema had used and overused and Lance was very aware of the conceptions regarding the process. He had little to protest about, since he agreed to the possession and now, the Prime that was previously in Matthew’s body, will enter his own. No amount of cinema could have prepared him from what was about to happen.
As soon as the Prime entered, the first things to fall into chaos were his senses. His skin felt hot on the outside and cold on the inside. As if he was having a very bad fever because his body was considering the Prime as a foreign invader. What came next was his vision, which was filled completely in white. This was because a great flash of light had just occurred, same as every other sightings involving these beings.
Lance was expecting a big bang of sound to accompany the light, but instead, he heard a deafening silence, as if the sound around him was consumed by this dark silence.
Then, his muscles became rigid. So rigid that he felt like he was made of stone, that his muscles had turned into bone. Electricity ran through each and every nerve in his body, jolting zaps of pain, numbness, and somewhat expectedly, bouts of pleasure.
The overload of sensations stopped and a welcomed sense of normality started to wash over Lance’s entire body like a bucket of cold water on a hot day. Lance sighed, glad that the ordeal was over. Then he winced.
Something sat in his mind. He could almost make out a void in his head that he could not think about, something blank occupied his thoughts. He was sure it was the Prime.
Quit trying to cage me. It’s hard enough that I entered your unwilling body, now the least you could do is relax! the Prime cried in his head.
Lance shook his head to get his bearings on himself, then shook his body to get his bearings on the world around him. Slowly, he inhaled and imagined his blood rushing up his head. Then he exhaled, imagining the blood rushing back to his entire body. He repeated this until his fingers tingled and his joints softened.
Nice technique. Didn’t know that you’re into meditation.
Lance smirked, "When you put yourself in a place where any second, a bomb could go off or hostiles could ambush you, you’d want to find a way to relax.
Nice place you got here. A well-organized mind. Lots of nasties but they’re all in a good place away from the normal stuff.
Quit it,
Lance barked, but yeah, thanks. Now, about what you promised.
Right, right. Don’t get me wrong, I’m really thankful. I mean, I'm still very sorry about tying you up and all. I hope we can get that out of the way soon because, you know, forgiveness is a virtue all the strong have and... Oh, sorry. I’m making you uncomfortable.
Lance’s brows had already met and a vein on his forehead
