About this ebook

“Good night. Sleep well,” says Amelie’s Mom every evening. But all too often, the little Amelie is not tired at all, which leads to many eventful happenings in her room before she goes to sleep. Amelie discovers the magic of nose drops, hides from a violent storm, wishes upon a shooting star, plays with dancing ghosts on her wall, and much, much more. All in all, Eva Markert presents fifteen short stories for putting the little ones to bed.

And that’s just what he does right now. He jumps on the bed, and lies down to go to sleep.

Where is Bernie, Amelie hears her Mom call from outside.

I don’t know, answers Dad. Maybe he’s with Amelie.

Amelie quickly hides Bernie under the blanket, leaving only the tip of his black nose poking out.

Mom sticks her head in Amelie’s room. Amelie, are you asleep, she whispers.

Amelie isn’t lying, because in the dark and under the blanket, she really cannot see Bernie. At the same time she has to laugh really hard.

Why are you laughing? asks Mom.

    I’m not laughing, Amelie snorts.

Then the doorbell suddenly rings. Bernie shoots out from under the covers like a lightning bolt and runs downstairs barking.

Well, says Mom, I’m glad that our doggie showed up again. Where did he come from so suddenly?

Amelie can’t help laughing more and
