CHAPTER ONE

First Day

September 5th, 2014

Today was Orientation at Pascagoula Christian College. My parents insisted that I go here so I could get a godly education and not be influenced by those liberal heathens at state schools. Well, I’m not much into the political side of things, but I’ve been tucked away at an all girls schools for so long that I think I’m going to pop if I don’t get to interact with some boys soon. This will be the first time I get to live away from home, and the college is co-ed so I’m almost certain that this is the year I finally get to experience what the world has to offer. Since this is a new beginning for me, and it will certainly be life changing, I’ve decided to keep this journal and document my journey.

My roommate seems pretty cool so far, her name is Angie, and she seems to have a similar background as mine. I hope it stays that way because she will have to be my partner in crime if I ever want to get away with anything. Obviously there isn’t much to report yet, but we have a social tonight so hopefully I’ll get started soon.

September 6th, 2014

The social was a bit of a bust. The chaperones are really strict here, and they made sure there was plenty of space between us when we danced. Can you imagine? We’re supposed to be adults in college, and we’re still being told Leave room for the Holy Spirit. Anyway, one good thing happened. I was approached by Mindy Hamilton. She’s an upperclassmen that’s really popular here, and I’ve heard it’s really beneficial to know her. She mentioned something about a sorority that I might get an invitation to pledge. I was so excited, but I hope I played it cool. I was homeschooled by my parents and didn’t have a lot of friends, so I would love to make some new connections.

Update: Two red envelopes were slipped under the door tonight, one for me and one for Angie. We think it’s about the sorority, but it only said Come to the Pool House at midnight. Curfew is 10pm, and the place is locked down pretty tight so we don’t know how we’ll get there yet, but we’re working on a plan.
