She later learns that her company is in desperate need of new investors or else the company will have to file bankruptcy and be seized by the government. In the midst of all this, she attends her college reunion where he sees Ryan again for the first time in 10 years. They basically pick up where they left off; Ryan proposes and invests in her company, saving it from turmoil. They are married a few months later and the novel ends.
