About this ebook

Simon was all wrong for her, Nina knew that much. He was younger, way too good looking, much too irresistible and, worst of all, the son of her best friend.

A single, tiny mistake left him with a taste for her, and much to her dismay, Nina realized he could make her do anything he wanted. It was pretty much the game of Simon Says, but all bets were off when scorching desire turned even hotter and melted hearts...

    Playing Simon Says

OH. SIMON, I didn’t know you were here.

As usual, the young man gave her a smile, his blue eyes looking straight into hers that made Nina had to quell what she thought was a blush coming up her cheeks. Really, Simon was... what? Seven, eight years younger than she was. It was ridiculous.

Well, he was ridiculously good looking, she relented there. Still, Nina thought there were a lot of good looking guys around and none of them managed to fluster her with just a single look and a long, drawn out smile.

She knew the searching look was meant to see if she would acknowledge... an encounter they had had previously but Nina had repeatedly convinced herself it had not happened, no, not at all, simply because she had forgotten all about it.

Well, she hadn’t but she had been pushing it out of her mind so it was the same thing, really. Anyway.

I’m supposed to meet your mother here. Is she out? she asked, a little annoyed that Leah seemed to have forgotten that she was coming over. Sure it was just an elevator ride down but still.

She ran out for some sugar and eggs. Come in, he gestured, stepping back to let her in. She said I could stay until the first batch is done then the two of you are going to have some girls’ time.

She noticed belatedly that he had a kitchen towel stuck to his pocket and some flour and batter on his hands. You were baking, too?

He flicked her a glance and then smiled. Sure. I’m better actually, even if I say so myself.

Nina threw him a skeptical look and Simon grinned.

You could see for yourself soon enough. He turned around as one of Leah’s many ovens dinged. I’ve got chocolate fondants in there. Hopefully they’ll meet your discerning standard.

Nina rolled her eyes and he laughed.

She placed her bag on the kitchen table and watched as he moved around the kitchen with ease, the length of his frame made a nice shape when he bent slightly to pull trays out of the oven. Nina quickly turned her head away, No, no thinking of his body, or hands or chest. She hated it but she could still vividly remember how his chest felt against hers, how his hands made her breathless as they held her in a strong grip while his lips...

Leah is taking such a long time, she said, rather abruptly. Simon was poking into one of his fondants with a fork, smiling when the chocolate oozed out silkily.

Hmmm? he looked up at her, licking some chocolate off his finger and Nina thought, Oh, God. You missed her by a minute, actually. She’d probably be back in five.

    Oh.

He stole a quick look at her and said, I’ll just wait for these guys to cool off a little bit and then I’ll pack them up and be out of your hair.

    I wasn’t... I didn’t mean—

Yeah, you did, he countered easily, poking at another of his little guys. "I wasn’t supposed to be here so yeah. You should still try my fondant though. Sorry I poked it but that
