Hearing the jiggle of the door opening, Steven’s eyes unconsciously swiveled towards it and his breath hitched.

—and I have half a mind to go up and him and tell him ‘hey you doofus, if it’s so easy do it yourself—’ Hey, Stevie? Earth to Stevie?

A voice, coming from far away seemed to repeatedly call his name.

Woah.

Distantly, he noted that his friend blinked, and following his line of sight also turned to look at the vision of beauty which had entered into the coffee shop.

Hot damn! Jim said and a silent whistle left his lips, he nodded. Yeah, I can see how that would be distracting, his coworker said with a wry grin, and shaking his head turned back towards him.

At any rate, what do you think? Should I do it?

The brown-haired man blinked, and with not an inconsiderable amount of difficulty, tore his gaze and thoughts away from the pale blonde beauty, garbed in a plain blue blouse and a short skirt, which displayed her impressive cleavage and tantalizingly thick thighs.

His heart, and other parts of his body, felt like they were on fire. He gulped.

Steve?

Yeah.

Should I, do it?

He shook his head, "Nah, sounds like a bad idea to me. Our glorious overlord…sorry ‘manager’, he said making air-quotes and drawing a snort out of his friend, is an ass, yes. But we won’t be saddled with him for much longer, so no need to risk it. Just be patient."

An annoyed exhale was his only answer for a long moment, Yeah, you’re right. His friend scowled for a few seconds before his visage brightened, a smile adorning his face. Anyway, you’ve heard about the new game that just released? It’s a banger, you’ve got to play it!

Steve rolled his eyes, and I told you, your taste is atrocious, no way, no how am I touching anything you recommend.

What?! Why?

Remember the last movie you told me was and I quote, ‘finger-licking good’? he deadpanned and his friend had the good decency to blush and lean back on his seat, avoiding his eyes.

Yeah, errors may have been made there… he said and a loud beeping made them both blink and startle.

Steve watched as the dark-skinned man fished out his phone from his jeans and paled.

Oh shit! Sorry bro, gotta run! The Missus has cravings again! the man said
