About this ebook

Will you answer the call of adventure? Hero myths have recognizable narratives that relate to our own lives, whether it is about overcoming obstacles, discovering our talents or helping our community. This book tells an original myth through a series of haiku that accompany nude black and white photography. The story follows an ordinary man trying to save his homeland from a malevolent threat. Since all men can be on a heroic journey in their own lives, multiple male models are used to represent this universal aspect. Male Nude: Hero Myth of the Masculine Journey asserts that men define themselves through their life choices.

These photographs show that skin is so beautiful. I don't want to stop looking. Like the play of shadow and light in some of the photos. The curves of nature and humans. I especially enjoyed the angle of the nudes hand and the angle of the waterfall. Striking. If the shadows would have been darker - A Adams. If they had been more dramatic - Maplethorp. Never-the-less my body and brain experienced the same 'rush' as when I first set eyes on A Adams and Maplethorp. This artist walked that line of individualization between tall columns. I also saw some Julien Freud poses in the images. This artist shows the same honesty as does Freud does in poses and use of light. Excellent on the surface, and all that wonderful innuendo that goes along with the artists use of image in pose and theme. My words are biased because I love black and white photo images. In my opinion, color is nice but chiaroscuro is better in black and white.
