Breathe a sigh of relief if you’re a Dragon’s Dogma fan: this sequel doubles down on everything that made the original an open world adventure like little else. But hold that next breath – you’ve been tossed into the air by a big beastie.
It only takes seconds for it to happen to us. We turn around as we’re unleashed on the open world and immediately get jumped, beak-first, by a griffin. Our fighter leads the charge in return, backed up by, we clamber up to its head to deal chunks of damage. But tossed around as it takes flight, we come loose, only saved from going splat by a pawn leaping up to grab us. With its massive health bar chipped away, the griffin takes flight and escapes. We can go almost anywhere in our demo, but of course we crave revenge.
