    No matter what business you’re in, there is no simple, one-size-fits-all marketing program. There are numerous good (and not-so-good) marketing principles circulating in the world. These are used by small sole proprietors as well as big league Madison Avenue executives.     We find that consistently working to add new ideas to our marketing repertoire is essential. But we also stick with what works. When developing your own marketing program, remember this: It is the repetition of consistent effort that gets results. Try various methods a few times. You will start to see a pattern of what works and what doesn’t work for your business. In addition, and very importantly, you will find methods you can live with and that you will do consistently. If cold-calling works like a charm, but you absolutely hate doing it and find yourself procrastinating, it isn’t a very good method for you.

    The bottom line...success takes action. If you have purchased this book hoping to do next-to-nothing and have the business pour onto your doorstep, stop reading now. You must extend yourself to some level to attain success. Finding new business is the core of any business.
