Introduction
There are several types of cooking styles that have fascinated men and women alike, but none of them have the traditional and conventional touch of cooking on a cast iron skillet. You used to have them way before the Teflon surfaced pans and dishes started taking over. Since time immemorial, cast iron has been used for cooking and only the recent advancements in technology have thrown away the cast iron skillets.
What made the people before us choose cast iron to be used in cooking? Why has it been used for so long? Cast iron has its own innate properties, which enable the chef to exploit its characteristics, to give food a wonderful taste and essence, which does not happen in other materials. Cast iron has a great retention capacity of heat that helps the dishes cook better and retain the flavor.
Cast iron has a great nonstick surface that ensures that the meat chunks or the flour you add to the pan does not stick to
