I spent all my childhood years living in a small village called Buxworth which is situated in the hills of the Peak District in North Derbyshire. Known as 'Captain Peter' I now live on the Algarve, Portugal. The nickname comes from my regular 'Seawatch' feature on Sunday mornings on Kiss Fm Portugal. Also did the daily news and weather for them for 3 or 4 years. I am author of a number of books - Interactive Traveller series, including 'Tour all Clubs in the English Football Leagues'. There are also other fictional and non-fictional books. I enjoy creating and writing whatever comes to mind. Most of the ideas come to me whilst I am fast asleep and I write them down as soon as I awake, before they disappear into the ether. Then develop the stories from there. Also create my own covers and videos. Love it, even if they aren't exactly George Lucas quality. Check out my web page:- http://www.captainpeter.net

A Sign of the Rhymes - P.D. Cain
SIGNS
Signs are everywhere, from the moment you are conceived.
Signs that your mother was pregnant; well, that’s what she believed.
Signs of life were felt when you moved within her womb,
Signs of movement detected, until you entered the room.
Signs as to your state of health were sought, your vital signs checked,
What signs of intelligence did you show? What signs did people detect?
Already the signs were showing that there were signs of things to come,
Did you show any signs of promise? The signs will have been different for some.
The main signs you encounter of course are the signs you see on signposts,
Pointing towards different locations, whether inland or along the coasts.
Signs of civilization maybe seen, showing signs of how things are at present,
Maybe the signs don’t look good for the future, signs that aren’t very pleasant.
Signs that people are increasingly perplexed with the signs of increased crime,
With no signs of an economic recovery, only signs of social decline.
Is it a sign of the times that we have become resigned to our fate?
Are there any signs from God to indicate that it’s not too late?
Remove these signs of negativity before there are signs of illness and signs of stress,
We should look for signs that make us feel better, signs we can address.
So many different types of signs are around; they are everywhere you look,
So there is a sign of hope for us, signs for a rosy outlook.
We have signs of the zodiac in which there are contained star signs,
I don’t know what your sign is, but the sign of Aquarius is mine.
Before I see signs of boredom or signs of tiredness while reading these lines,
I’ll leave you with one final sign, which is mine,
The title of this book – A Sign of the Rhymes!
Enjoy!
HUMOROUS RHYMES
THE RELUCTANT GARDENER
I’m not a very keen gardener, but unfortunately it has to be done,
But first it’ll have to stop raining, for I’ll only garden in the sun.
The grass on the lawn’s going to be difficult, but I guess I will get by,
Although I can’t see how the lawnmower will cut grass that’s 3 feet high!
I notice that the weeds are back, it really isn’t fair,
They always pick my garden to grow in;
