A Little a Lliteration for an Angel

When the day of the dead dawns

And seventy sensually scented serpents sing songs

While, very virile vixens drift through, thick thundering thistles

Her eyes, endlessly enchanting will whisper winged words

That will clear the clouds covering my hollowed half-hanged heart.

You’ve been gone for months, but you’re still

The first thing I see in the morning.

I’m still writing poems from

My heart to yours.

My thumb and index finger still

Long for the feel of your chin.

These lips chap and rip

Without your healing kiss.

But,

When the day of the dead dawns

And seventy sensually scented serpents sing songs,

I will shake this addiction to your sweet, subtly seductive sunrise eyes.

I bleed words

   If you cut me open right now

Adjectives, adverbs, and something called a gerund would squirt out.

   I spew heroic poetic verse at your

Daughter

Nephew

&

Wife

I am not a role model

   Do not follow me

   I am not the bread of life

College

Knowledge

Books

Sideways looks

Leave me shook.

I’m not a fan of Adam and Eve

   How bout you play
