Dear reader!
The sweet scent of almonds and festive spices lies in the air of my kitchen. This scent floods my heart with warm memories of my childhood and I start dreaming of the days when my mother stood in her kitchen and prepared her amazing different kinds of Christmas cakes and the German Plätzchen (cutout cookies). Can you imagine what happened when she just for a short moment did not pay attention to these delicious sweets? My small hands quickly reached for a Plätzchen or two. I guess my mom knew all too well about her child. Does this raise warm memories of your childhood when you could not wait for Christmas to come?
This is the time we call the most beautiful time of the year. In Germany, traditions such as baking for the advent season, Sundays and, of course, for Christmas are very much appreciated. Decorating your home, singing and baking with the children, visiting Christmas markets and, of course, baking Plätzchen and other Christmas cookies are not only wonderful Christmas activities but also create a cozy
