Jake looked over at Emma. She looked adorable sleeping in the passenger seat of his VW Bus. Less than an hour ago, Jake had had Emma bent over the back bed, now, here she was fast asleep as they made their way to the Dave Matthews concert, set to start in a few hours. As Jake drove the two lane highway, he replayed the events of the last few hours over and over again in his head. He couldn’t help but smile at his incredibly good fortune.

The miles and minutes passed as they continued on to the concert fairgrounds. Jake’s old bus seemed to find every pothole on the road, but one particularly big one caused Emma to stir. She yawned widely and stretched her young, lean body. Her eyes blinked open and she searched her surroundings for some familiarity, as her gaze came upon Jake she smiled and said, How long have I been out? Are we close?

Good afternoon, sleepyhead, he replied. You’ve only been out for about an hour, so we still have a little ways to go.

Still waking up, she nodded and asked if he wouldn’t mind pulling over at the next rest stop. He agreed and within ten minutes they were both standing upright and walking to their respective rest rooms.

Jake finished first, even after spending
