About this ebook

Deception is a very strong word...in its simplest form it is a telling of lies. The thing about lying to "Christians', is that the lie has eternal consequences. Deception brings complacency. Complacency makes one believe that one's name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life when it actually is not. Believing a lie will eventually become a truth to you. How sure are you of the eternal consequences in your life? This book not only reveals the deception but it also names those who teach such. Are you willing to risk eternal life by not reading this book? Be a Berean and stand up for truth because we all know the end is near...

Prologue

Apostasy is a rich word in the Greek. Apostasy carries the idea of a departure or a falling away, a forsaking of the truth, a defection from the truth, a revolt from the truth, and a swerving away from the truth.

Simply put, a moving away from the truth. Jesus said that narrow is the road...and He meant it.

To be bluntly honest, I didn't want to write this book. After having gone through a dung heap of falsehood, lies and deception, I didn't want to write this book. I know what the Lord meant when He said in Revelation 3: 15-16 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

That is how I am feeling even as I am typing. I know that this is how I will feel until this book is completed. I feel like vomiting...

So for the big question: What qualifies me to write this book? Who am I? Well I can state from the word go that I am not a 'Dave Hunt' or a 'John McArthur'. I don't have a mega church or a huge following. I suppose you could say I was cast in the "John the Baptist' mold. Who I am, is a 'Born Again, Tongues speaking, devil chasing', Christian. As many in the 'Ministry', I was called with a verse in scripture and this was 21st July 1999:

Jeremiah 6: 27 I have made you a tester of metals and my people the ore, that you may observe and test their ways.

Right so one can now say, He is going to be judgmental, or Who made you judge over us?' or You are not famous, so what makes you think we will listen to you?" Frankly, I really don't care what you think. The discerning Christian, the one who wants to make sure that they will go to heaven when they die, will read this book.

This book is not about slamming other religions. There is enough of that already. This book is about exposing false doctrine and those who preach it. Many that I will name are actually doing an amazing amount of good deeds, but while they are doing this with your money, millions of people are pouring into hell.

I have broken this book up into 7 waves. In this book I use quotes from a variety of authors as well as excerpts from many a teaching or letter. At the end of the book I will do my utmost to ensure that all authors used, are mentioned. Some authors I use will be mentioned immediately after the message as this one by Leonard Ravenhill:

The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church...grieved at the toleration of sin in the Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that the corporate prayer of the Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil. - Leonard Ravenhill

Is it negative and unbiblical to name false teachers? I mean, where is the love, right?

The Bible is filled with examples of Jesus and others naming false teachers by name. For example, the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy names numerous people by name:

2 Timothy 1:15: Phygellus and Hermogenes

2 Timothy 2:17: Mymenaeus and Philetus

2 Timothy 3:8: Jannes and Jambress

2 Timothy 4:10: Demas

2 Timothy 4:14: Alexander the coppersmith.

In III John 9, John named Diotrephes.

Jesus called out the false teachers in Matthew 23 and Luke 11.

I truly believe that one reason why God allows false teachers is to provide believers with a test of whether they will be faithful in their Biblical mandate to expose false teachers and thus protect the sheep from the spiritual poison of wolves in sheep's clothing. - Author Unknown

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

So let us do what the Bereans did and study the scriptures...my dear Mr. and Mrs. Christian, you might be going to hell and you just don't know it!

Paul makes it clear we are to expose false teachers. So now for the first wave...

Chapter 1: First Wave

Part 1: Gnostism

During the first century, you had the Gnostics; heretics who believed that God entered Jesus when He was baptized by John and the Holy Spirit landed on Him, as a dove, and then left Him before He died. Gnosticism is defined as the Hellenization of Christianity. (What the did not understand is that the Holy Spirit entered Jesus and simply filled Him and empowered Him to do God's work.)

Gnosticism (from gnostikos, learned, from Greek:γνwσις gnōsis, knowledge) is a modern scholarly term for a set of religious beliefs and spiritual practices found among some early Christian and non-Christian groups called gnostic (learned) by Irenaeus and other early Christian leaders. In the past many scholars believed that Gnosticism pre-dated Christianity, but now it is generally accepted that Gnosticism developed into a coherent movement only in the second century CE.

These deceivers of the truth believed that Jesus came to earth to deliver gnosis, or secret knowledge.

Another group around the same time were the Docetist who believed that Jesus was a phantom. He was not real, not flesh and blood, and only seemed to be human, but had no reality, but mere semblance. - Mike Taylor

In Christian terminology, Docetism (from the Greek δοκεῖν/δόκησις dokeĩn (to seem) /dókēsis (apparition, phantom) according to Norbert Brox, is defined narrowly as the doctrine according to which the phenomenon of Christ, his historical and bodily existence, and thus above all the human form of Jesus, was altogether mere semblance without any true reality.

Broadly it is taken as the belief that Jesus only seemed to be human, and that his human form was an illusion. The word Δοκηταί Dokētaí (illusionists) referring to early groups who denied Jesus' humanity, first occurred in a letter by Bishop Serapion of Antioch (197–203) who discovered the doctrine in the Gospel of Peter, during a pastoral visit to a Christian community using it in Rhosus, and later condemned it as a forgery. It appears to have arisen over theological contentions concerning the meaning, figurative or literal, of a sentence from the Gospel of John: the Word was made Flesh.

Docetism was unequivocally rejected at the First Council of Nicaea in 325 and is regarded as heretical by the Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, and many others. A pity the Catholics did not stick to truth either...

Part 2: Catholic 'Church'

Many a book has been written about the false gospel and false Christianity promulgated by the Catholic Church. Right from the outset I have to stress that the Catholic Church is not a Christian Church, but rather a conglomeration of heresy after heresy. Excellent writings on this subject are found in the Book, 'Babylon Mystery Religion'. I will however, note some very important heresies that might help a Catholic turn to Jesus.

All references are found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If a Catholic would actually read a bible, they will find that all the below mentioned, are lies...These lies are also still found amongst other Denominations.

The Catholic Church is the one true church (CCC 2105)

Infallibility of the Catholic Church, (CCC 2035)

Only the Roman Catholic Church has authority to interpret Scripture (CCC 100)

The Pope is the head of the church and has the authority of Christ (CCC 2034)

The Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation (CCC 846)

Sacred Tradition equal to scripture (CCC 82)

Forgiveness of sins, salvation, is by faith and works (CCC 2036 CCC 2080 2068)

Full benefit of Salvation is only through the Roman Catholic Church (Vatican 2, Decree on Ecumenism, 3)

Grace can be merited (CCC 2010 CCC 2027)

The merit of Mary and the Saints can be applied to Catholics and others (1477)

Penance is necessary for salvation (CCC 980), Purgatory (CCC 1031 CCC 1475)

Indulgences (CCC 1471 CCC 1478 CCC 1498 CCC 1472)

Mary is Mediatrix (CCC 969); Mary brings us the gifts of eternal salvation (CCC 969)

Mary delivers souls from death (CCC 966)

Prayer to the saints (CCC 2677)

The Communion elements become the actual body and blood of Christ (CCC 1374 CCC 1376).

As I am working on this book pope Francis has added two more heretical errors. The first is proclaiming that it is dangerous for a 'Christian', to have a personal relationship with Jesus. The second fallacy is to proclaim Mary second to God and higher than the Christ. How dumb is that? If you believe in the Trinity you will understand exactly as the Bible declares in numerous passages, I and the Father are one. If you have seen Me you have seen the Father. Just some of Jesus' quotes. No wonder the Catholic 'Church' is equated with the 'Whore of Babylon'.

Chapter 2: Second Wave

Part 1: Martin Luther and the Protestants

This brings us to the Second Wave. It started out really great but ended really bad. Martin Luther was the hero of the Protestant Movement. He is, still today, a hero in many Denominations. The truth of the matter however, exposes Martin Luther as a man who did not have it all...

Jewish Error

Luther initially preached tolerance towards the Jewish people, convinced that the reason they had never converted to Christianity was that they were discriminated against, or had never heard the Gospel of Christ. However, after his overtures to Jews failed to convince Jewish people to adopt Christianity, he began preaching that the Jews were set in evil, anti-Christian ways, and needed to be expelled, from German politics. In his On the Jews and Their Lies, he repeatedly quotes the words of Jesus in Matthew 12:34, where Jesus called them a brood of vipers and children of the devil.

Luther was zealous toward the Gospel, and he wanted to protect the people of his homeland from the Jews who he believed would be harmful influences since they did not recognize Jesus as their Savior. In Luther's time, parents had a right and a duty to direct their children's marriage choices in respect to matters of faith. Likewise, Luther felt a duty to direct his German people to cling to the Jesus the Jews did not accept. It should be noted that church law was superior to civil law in Luther's day and that law said the penalty of blasphemy was death. When Luther called for the deaths of certain Jews, he was merely asking that the laws that were applied to all other Germans also be applied to the Jews. The Jews were exempt from the church laws that Christians were bound by, most notably the law against charging interest.

Crude and sin bound

Luther was known to advise people that they should literally "Tell the Devil he may kiss my ass." It should be remembered that Luther received many communications from throughout Europe from people who could write anonymously, that is, without the specter of mass media making their communications known. No public figure today could write in the manner of the correspondences Luther received or in the way Luther responded to them. Luther was certainly a theologian of the middle ages. He was an earthy man who enjoyed his beer, and was bold and often totally without tact in the blunt truth he vehemently preached. While this offended many, it endeared him all the more to others.

He was open with his frustrations and emotions, as well. Once, when asked if he truly loved God, Luther replied "Love God? Sometimes I hate Him! Luther was also frustrated by the works-emphasis of the book of James, calling it the Epistle of Straw, and questioning its canonicity. Also irritated with the complex symbolism of the Book of Revelation, he once said that it too, was not canon, and that it should be thrown into the river! He later retracted these statements, of course. Luther was a man who was easily misquoted or taken out of context. While a brilliant theologian, and a bold reformer, he would not have made a good politician. But then, he never aspired to any career in politics.

Baptismal Error

I thought it prudent
