The Day of the Lord, Second Edition: An Exegesis of the Book of Revelation and Other Apocalyptic Scripture
()
About this ebook
The Day of the Lord, Second Edition once again investigates the Bibles apocalyptic texts and reveals flaws in current interpretations, helping readers to clarify the ties between the Bibles prophecies of the end of days and events unfolding in contemporary culture. Author Louis Diedricks harvests the fruits of years of biblical study and of his reflections on current events in explaining the day of the Lord.
After providing a forewarning of intense imagery and descriptions in the Bibles apocalyptic texts, The Day of the Lord devotes most of its chapters to intensively examining the Bibles Revelation. Several chapters also focus on end-time portions of the Old Testaments Daniel. In the end, The Day of the Lord affords readers with the insights needed to make choices about whether they wish to believe in Gods Word and live a prudent and just life, or whether they wish to not believe in Gods word, so that they may live for their flesh, resulting in immoral and unjust works.
If you have harbored curiosityand perhaps even fearabout what the Bible really says about the end of days, or if you have wondered about the meaning of the events unfolding in the world today, then The Day of the Lord can guide you to making sense of the present day in light of the Scriptures witness to Gods plans.

PREFACE
D URING THE FOURTEENTH CENTURY, the plague called the Black Death killed an estimated one-third of all Europeans. Although the leading theory for this disease is that it represented the bubonic plague, the numerous inconsistencies known to exist between these two plagues led me to investigate whether another arrival in Europe at the time (gunpowder) had any role in bringing about the Black Death plague.
The first piece of information I found to support a relationship between gunpowder and the Black Death plague was in the Orient from where gunpowder had initially originated and where the Black Death plague had appeared nearly twenty years prior to arriving in Europe. This fact along with other data supporting gunpowder in bringing about the Black Death plague led me to produce my first work, What It Is: Volume I, Geschiste, which expounded on this data and other topics that lacked sufficient credibility in meeting the facts.
The Day of the Lord continues this project, providing additional information on how and why the world is in the state it is in. Despite mankind having foreknowledge on the repercussions for its actions in the future (through biblical scriptures), most of mankind nonetheless will disregard God’s word and choose a path of destruction for himself and the earth. Though seemingly counterintuitive, the reason for this choice lies in mankind’s interests. As many individuals deny that man-made global warming is occurring because their profits would be reduced if they were to be more environmentally responsible, so too will many individuals deny the meaning of God’s word because it conflicts with their interests.
INTRODUCTION
W HILE THIS BOOK IS intended to benefit all who wish a greater understanding on events set to occur in the near future, it will be of far greater benefit to individuals who possess a basic (or greater) understanding of God’s word (the Bible).
Anyone having extensively looked into biblical Apocrypha interpretations will have noticed numerous conflicting interpretations on what these events represent. While this has left many people wondering, which, if any assessments may be correct; there are several means by which people may ascertain a greater level of understanding on what these events represent.
Just like a jigsaw puzzle correctly assembled produces a clear picture, so too do apocalyptic scriptures correctly assembled with other scriptures describing these same events provide corroboration and a clearer understanding on the matter.
In contrast, seeing how so many interpretations on biblical Apocrypha produce more confusion than clarity, many of these interpretations must therefore be erroneous, not supported by corroborating scriptures, and, or having been assembled incorrectly with unrelated scriptures. A leading reason for many of these errors has been not recognizing passages related to these events.
What this means is that even though nearly everyone familiar with the Bible is aware that the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel, and a few other scriptures cover events set to transpire during the end of days, the fact is that nearly every book in the Bible covers these events in great detail. The leading cause for this oversight is that many scriptures are presumed to pertain to events at or near the time when they were written, when in reality they pertain to events at the end of days.
For example, look at Numbers 23:9 (KJV)¹, Lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
While this prophesy appeared when the Jews were entering the land of Israel after spending forty years in the wilderness; as these individuals were shortly thereafter reckoned among the world’s nations, its reference is realized to a different group of people.
Adding further support is the following verse: Who can count the dust of Jacob…
Numbers 23:10 (KJV), indicating a populace nearly beyond count; which with a census of the Jews taken shortly after their entering Israel (Num. 26), eliminates that generation from meeting the criterion.
This extremely large populace arises in another description made about a thousand years later that refers to a group of individuals who return to the land of Israel and find insufficient room for themselves (Zech. 10:10). Because this description correlates with the populace nearly beyond count (Num. 23:10), it is realized referencing a future generation. In short, these and other unrecognized passages in Apocrypha, when coordinated with acknowledged Apocrypha, provide a greater understanding of these events.
Another reason why apocalyptic scriptures are sometimes hard to comprehend is how the events are often depicted, in retrospect, but when perceived sequentially (as is often the case), they result in vague and erroneous interpretations. For example,
And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles,
