Pinky the Dragon

About this ebook
“Once upon a time, long long ago, in a far away land filled with magical creatures, there lived a dragon. Now this was not just some plain, ordinary dragon; this was a little pink dragon.”
“Really grandfather; a little pink dragon?” asked Elisabeth.
“That’s right. And the little dragon was so pink that his mother and father named him Pinky.
“Well, as you can imagine, Pinky was different from the rest of the dragons that lived in his village, for all the dragons in his village, and other villages of his race, were green dragons. Even Pinky’s parents were green dragons. The other dragons thought Pinky was very strange and he was considered an outcast. So, life was much harder for him while he was growing up in the Great Woods where his village was. Pinky had never had any friends; all the younger green dragons were mean to Pinky just because he was a different color. But little did they know just how special Pinky truly was; not even Pinky knew.

Pinky the Dragon - Jesse R. Curry
CHAPTER 1
STORYTIME
Once upon a time, long long ago, in a far away land filled with magical creatures, there lived a dragon. Now this was not just some plain, ordinary dragon; this was a little pink dragon.
Really grandfather; a little pink dragon?
asked Elisabeth.
"That’s right. And the little dragon was so pink that his mother and father named him Pinky.
"Well, as you can imagine, Pinky was different from the rest of the dragons that lived in his village, for all the dragons in his village, and
other villages of his race, were green dragons.
But I knew,
said grandfather So look closely into my crystal ball, as I tell you the tale of Pinky The Dragon, and of the day his life was forever changed.
But, Grandfather Merlin
asked Elisabeth, How do you know the tale of Pinky The Dragon?
My child, you ask how?
Yes grandfather, how?
It was so very long ago since dragons were on the earth. If know you must, then know you shall. The reason I know the story of Pinky The Dragon so well is because I was there.
Ha ha, that’s funny,
laughed Tom, Grandfather please, there’s no way you could have been there; that had to have been thousands of years ago. You need to quit telling Elisabeth all of these crazy stories; you already have her believing you’re the same wizard Merlin from the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table; now it’s pink dragons. Come on grandfather, please!
Tom, you leave grandfather alone. If he says he was there, then he was there. And, he is a wizard; a great wizard at that. You’d do well to watch your manners, or I’ll tell grandfather to turn you into a toad!
Oh please!
exclaimed Tom.
Now grandfather, would you please continue? I apologize for Tom’s rudeness.
You sure you don’t want me to turn him into a big fat slimy frog?
No grandfather, maybe later; please go on with your story.
"Well, as I was saying, look closely into my crystal ball and see the tale of Pinky The Dragon; for on this day, his life changed forever....’’
CHAPTER 2
The Chase
The day seemed no different than any other spring day, and as usual Pinky spent much of his free time exploring and playing alone in the Great Woods. Well not quite alone; there was this little blue dragonfly that just popped up one day and has followed Pinky around ever since.
Pinky tried to catch the little dragonfly, but he was just too fast; so Pinky named him Speedy. I guess you could say Speedy was the closest thing to a friend Pinky had. It just so happened that as the day
went by a certain group of young green dragons from Pinky’s village stumbled upon Pinky and Speedy playing.
They were always mean to Pinky, and this time was no different. Upon seeing Pinky they surrounded him. Butch, the largest of the bunch and the self-appointed leader, wasted no time in teasing Pinky.
Well, well; if it isn’t Pinky the stinky dragon,
teased Butch; the others laughed.
What are you doing Pinky; still playing with that little old dragonfly? Can’t you even make one real friend? Just face it Pinky, you’re a loser. No one likes you, and you’ll never have any real friends,
said Butch with a smile.
Then he noticed that Pinky was about to cry, but since Butch wasn’t one to care about other’s feelings, he
